I DON’T KNOW IF IT’S TUESDAY OR THURSDAY, THERE’S A CAT IN MY BATHROOM, A DOG ON ANTIBIOTICS, AND I’M PRETTY SURE SOMETHING JUST PEED IN MY CAR.
BUT DON’T FORGET ABOUT YOUR LOCO LOCAL DOG AND CAT RESCUE THIS GIVING TUESDAY!!!!
Listen, folks. A lot of sad s**t has been happening in the rescue world lately. Stories of organizations allegedly taking money to save dogs, only for those dogs to end up sh*t, hoarding cases, neglect….
And unfortunately, the legitimate rescues get caught in the fallout. People stop trusting. Donations slow down. And the animals who actually NEED us are the ones who suffer.
PLEASE research who you’re donating to. Look at their work. Look up their 990s. Ask questions. We WANT people to know where their money goes.
Now, allow me to introduce you to the sleep-deprived, dog-hair-covered, slightly unhinged circus known as Cleo’s Legacy.
100% VOLUNTEER. No salaries. No paid staff. Just a bunch of grown adults who looked at their already chaotic lives and said, “You know what this needs? A dog with a $4,000 medical bill and separation anxiety.”
We care for roughly THREE TIMES the number of animals as a rural shelter, except we apparently skipped the part where you pick the easy ones.
Medical cases? Yep.
Senior dogs? Absolutely.
Behavioral cases? We wanna know why, who, what, when, and how to save them.
Dogs who’ve been sitting in shelters for YEARS? Those are our people.
WE ARE THE UNDERDOG RESCUE.
And right now, we’re trying to raise $20,000 before the end of the year.
Not to buy a yacht. Not to pay ourselves. Not to send our board to the Bahamas.
TO GET THE ANIMALS WE ALREADY HAVE THROUGH WINTER.
And frankly, $20,000 might not even cover it.
