Happy Birthday, Jess! 🎉🎂
Wtake birthdays very seriously around here… which obviously required:
✅ A full staff sing-along
✅Quenstionable vocal talent
✅Inflatable birthday cake suit
✅Full exam by the birthday girl herself

Jess keeps our day running smoothly, cares for your pets like they’re her own, and somehow still tolerates us breaking into song mid shift
Help us wish her the BEST year yet!

🌸 Muzzle Training: A Tool for Care, Not Just Aggression! 🌸

Say hello to Arlo and his stylish human, twinning in pink and showing us how muzzles can be a part of compassionate pet care! 💕

Muzzles often carry a stigma, but they’re not just for aggression. Arlo’s wearing his pink muzzle to stop him from licking his itchy skin raw while undergoing treatment. (Turns out, it’s not allergies—surprising, right?)

At Veterinary Medical Center, we encourage muzzle training as a positive and proactive step for all dogs. Whether it’s for vet visits, grooming, scavenging prevention, or health protection like Arlo’s, muzzles are a tool of love and safety.

Let’s work together to normalize muzzles and support responsible pet care! 🐾

As a veterinarian, it was such a privilege to see Dr. Temple Grandin speak. Her work has greatly improved how animals are cared for, and her influence reaches into everyday veterinary medicine. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from someone who has made such a positive impact on animal welfare.

The culprits behind the mysterious lick marks were goats.🐐 This car has become a giant four-wheeled salt lick. All the road grime tastes like a gourmet meal. Should we let them finish the snack?

Veterinary Medical Center of Independence will be closed tomorrow, January 26 due to weather conditions.

Our Fort Thomas location is currently planning to open at 12:00 PM, but this will be reevaluated in the morning, and we will provide updates if anything changes.

Please stay safe, and thank you for your understanding! 💙🐾

Disposing of expired bottles of injectable steroids is than just cleaning off a shelf—it’s a sign of progress. It means we’ve updated our treatment options, choosing new, evidence-based medications that are safer and more effective for your pets.

Do you ever wonder what happens behind the scenes when we aren't in the exam room? We are hitting the books. We are reviewing new studies. We are upgrading our protocols.

Veterinary medicine is changing faster than ever, and "good enough" isn't in our vocabulary. Whether it’s phasing out older medications for safer alternatives or adopting new techniques, every decision we make is rooted in the latest evidence.
Why? Because your pets deserve the same level of medical advancement that humans get.
When you bring your furry family members to us, you aren't just getting a check-up; you are getting a team that is constantly evolving to provide the safest, most effective care possible.
Thank you for trusting us with your best friends. We are honored to be your partners in their health.
Is your pet due for a wellness exam? Give us a call today to schedule an appointment.
