The Hinton SPCA would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Town of Hinton for awarding us a Community Grant.

Thanks to your generous support, our much-needed laundry project is now a reality!

This upgrade will make a significant difference in our daily operations. It will help with easing the workload for our dedicated staff and giving us more time to focus on what truly matters: caring for the animals who need us most.

We’re grateful to be part of such a supportive and compassionate community.

Thank you, Town of Hinton!

& District SPCA

Name: Anchovy
S*x: Female
Intake Date: May 9th 2025
Born in December 2024

Anchovy is a beautiful girl with a unique coat. She was transferred to us via the Edson Animal Control with her sister Artichoke. Anchovy gets along well with other cats. She has no known history with dogs, but her temperament leads us to believe she would be well suited to live with a dog that gets along with cats. Anchovy loves it when volunteers come in and spend time with her. She gets along well with children that respect her boundaries and is not shy when it comes to getting a scratch behind the ears.

🐾 We still have four incredibly cute puppies looking for their forever home from the “N” litter!🐾

Four of the other puppies and the mother (Nova) have found their forever homes!

We have 2 females, Nessi ands Nicky, and 2 males, Nemo and Neptune.

They are ready to grow up in a loving home that is committed to the time, effort, love and patience that it takes when making a commitment to being a dog owner ❤️

These four are paper trained and are working on the command “sit” and walking on leash.

These puppies were born April 10, 2025, and are Shepherd crosses. Nova weighs 50 pounds and we do not know the size of the father.

We are accepting applications now.
The adoption fee is $550. This includes a vet check, deworming, micro chipping, first round of vaccinations and the spay or neuter.

Name: Mitzy
Breed: DLH - Nebelung Cross

Meet Mitzy.

Her temperament is remarkably easy-going and friendly. She demonstrates compatibility with both cats and dogs, yet would be equally content in a single-pet household.

Mitzy was surrendered to our organization after her owner's passing.

Mitzy exhibits a particular fondness for her cat tree's enclosed cubbyhole, which affords her a view of the window and opportunities to observe her feline peers.

The Hinton and District SPCA recently received the donation of an amazing amount of dog and cat food. We can not thank ZIWI Pets and Greater Good Charities enough for their generous donation of pet food. And thank you to the Alberta SPCA for making the distribution possible.

The Hinton and District SPCA currently has 18 dogs (5 of them puppies) and 31 cats in care. We go through a lot food! This donation is truly amazing and we can not say thank you enough.

Name: Rufus
Breed: DSH Grey and White

Age: Around 3 years old

Rufus came to us as a transfer due to his previous owner's passing. He is a very affectionate boy who loves to chat with you. He is a playful boy who loves playing with all his toys, especially the feather wand. He has previously lived with another cat, so he is compatible with other cats. His history with dogs is unknown and would be most likely suitable in a home with kids.

Bartholomew came to us through ASPCA with his sister, Cassie. He is a very friendly boy who loves getting attention. He is very easy-going and laid-back. He likes other cats; his compatibility with dogs is unknown. His temperament suggests he would most likely do good in a home with children.
