A huge thank you to West Central
Contracting LTD for the donation of gravel. We have been having trouble with our dog yards flooding after a rain or when the snow 1st melts. We are excited to now have the materials to fix this problem.

Recently our staff came to work and found 2 baby snowshoe hares in a box at the front door.

Snowshoe Hares can not be pets. They require acres to run, have never been domesticated, and are fearful of human interaction.

If you find a baby snowshoe hare, the best thing you can do is leave it right there. Mother hares deliberately leave their young alone during the day to avoid attracting predators. They appear alone during the day. Being alone is perfectly normal for the species. The babies are born fully furred with open eyes and rely on freezing in place as a natural defense.

Thank you to Medicine River Wildlife Centre for taking the hares into care.

And shout out to Ed, Lilly and Carol for the transfer.

As a reminder please NEVER leave an animal outside our doors. Without a phone call or interaction with staff we are left with no information. Unattended animals face severe risks from extreme weather, predators, and traffic. In case this optimal solution would have been to return the hares to where they were found but without this context we could not do that. We are once again so grateful to Medicine River Wildlife Centre.

Thank you PetValu and your customers for the donation! Lots of playtime ahead with those Chuck It balls!

Meet Kiki!

Born: May 21st, 2024
S*x: Male

Kiki can be shy at first but when he warms up quickly and then there is no better cuddler around! He was an owner surrender, through no fault of his own. He has a couple feline friends and no known history with dogs or children.

Kiki would love to meet you!
