Hello everyone we are looking for help,
This is Rick from the Four Paws Bed and Biscuit. We have a situation that we are looking for help. We have a pup (Jax) who is staying with us because his owner was in the hospital. Unfortunately, his owner passed away. So now we are trying to find him a new home. If you or someone you know would be willing to open their home to this wonderful boy please call us at 507 451-7297 or 507 380-0603. Any leads would be appreciated. Thank you. We will have him introduce himself below. He is a really nice boy!

Hi, I’m Jax! I’m an eager-to-please yr 9 old Aussie mix, sadly looking for a new home since my human has passed away. I am a very smart boy and loyal companion who loves to go for walks, fetch balls, follow commands and keep an eye on things out the front door. I have a lot of skills including being house trained, crate trained and also know a few basic commands. My Aussie breed makes me protective of my surroundings, so a home with no other pets or small humans would be best. I really would like to find a wonderful human/humans to please and a new home. Can it be you?
Jax

This is Maziey from the Four Paws Bed and Biscuit, back with our new Dog of the month for September, Brenda. This fantastic lady is a member of several clubs at the FFB&Biscuit. She is an active member in the Clean Bowl Club, she does not let a morsel of food go to waste. And she enjoys an occasional harmonizing session in The Barker Shop Quartet when she visits.

Brenda, thank you for letting me interview you. I am humbled that you asked me to be the Dog of the Month thank you for this honor.

First things first you are beautiful, what breed are you? Mix, my people were told I was part Australian Shepherd, but I my mother was never in Australia, so I don’t think that’s accurate .

Who picked your name? My person Julie named me Brenda, my person Miriam gave me my middle name June.

Do you have any nicknames? Why yes I do! They would be Pretty Girl, Piggy and Nosey.

When is your birthday? I am proud to say March 22nd.

Who is your Best Friend? I really love my person, Dave. He always gives me the last bite of anything he’s eating. Of course, I stay close, so he doesn’t forget I’m there.

What is your favorite activity? I love to eat!!!

What is your favorite food? Anything I shouldn’t have.

If you could eat human food, what would it be? I love almost any human food. Especially meat. Once when my person, Dave, turned his back on a freshly grilled steak, I ate it off the plate (which was on the counter) in about 2 bites. Like I said before He always gives me the last bite. It was my lucky week because another one of my people, Miriam, came home from a night out with another steak. She bent down to take off her shoes and I took it from the box. I mean, it is called a “doggie bag” for a reason, am I right?

What is the strangest thing you have eaten? Well, when I first came to live in my family, they had lots of shoes by the door. I did manage to eat an entire croc. My people didn’t think I’d really eaten it, but they found evidence in the yard.

What would be your favorite toy? Because my dog toys don’t last, I really like children’s toys. The children that come to my house are called ‘grandchildren’ and they have left many toys unattended in which case I get to play with them (as long as no one sees me)

What is something naughty that you have done? Funny you should ask it relates to the previous question. Most of the Barbies are amputees. The cars and tractors likely have 3 or less tires/wheels. Now the‘grandchildren’ are very quick about picking up their toys, but I usually find one or two after they leave – and will destroy it.

What is your favorite place to be scratched? I really enjoy a good butt scratch, but I’ll take a belly scratch, under the chin, behind the ears. I don’t have any shame when it comes to that.

Where is your favorite place to go? If I could spend the entire day laying on the bed with Dave, that’s my favorite place to be. I also enjoy my time with Ms. Rachel and Mr. Rick. They understand me.

What superpower would you have if you had one? My nose freakishly sensitive. I can literally smell the smallest morsel of food anywhere, anytime and I will find it and eat it.

And Finally, What is your life motto? You can never get enough people food.

Thank you again for letting me interview you and congratulation on being dog of the month. You are welcome and once again “Thank-you for this honor” by the way do you have any leftovers from the Labor day meal? It was delicious.

UPDATE : Rachel did it again. She and her photo went up to the Minnesota State Fair to compete in the 4H exhibit. Out of all photo exhibited, there were only 4 purple ribbons (the biggest Honor) handed out. Rachel's picture of Mazie earned on of those four. Needless to say Mom and Dad are extremely proud of Rachel. She has worked hard refining her skills while taking photos of our guests during their visits. Congratulations Rachel.
Love you!!

Mom and Dad just want to say how proud we are and to BRAG that Rachel is the 4H Senior elements Champion Photographer for Steele County 2025. She won with a picture of Maziee, the Four Paws Bed and Biscuit reporter and mascot. Their picture will be going up to the State Fair to compete in the State 4H competition.
If you don’t know, at the Four Paws Bed and Biscuit, Rachel shoots the pictures of the pups that we post and send out. She does a very nice job of capturing images of the many pups that visit us. Speaking of which, we will be posting and sending out more of her images of the pups from this spring/summer for everyone to enjoy
We hope you join us in congratulating Rachel and wishing her best of luck up at state
Her proud parents,
Alisa and Rick

𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮. No problem, ready when you are.
𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬? Anniebelle, Ang, Angela.
𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲? July 4, 2011.
𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝? My buddy Sam and I used to be besties, but we’re both not so pupperish anymore. He’s a black and white spaniel doggie like me, but not so springy.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧? When Sam came over to play, we ate Mom’s new glasses and the larger half of a $100.00 bill. Don’t worry, I paid her back.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞? When I was in my springiest prime; I used to get in trouble for hanging out on top of the dining room table, so I could keep an eye on the neighborhood and maybe catch a snooze in the sun.
𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨? The Cabin! My favorite activity is Hiking off leash so I can explore in the tall grass, dig in the snow, or look for fun stuff in the water.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐞? My super-power though is detecting the difference between when mom moves off the couch or when dad moves off the couch even when I seem fast asleep. When dad gets up, it means snack-time. We like peanut butter crackers the best.
𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨? Eat, eat, sleep, and be happy.
𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮; 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐨𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡. You welcome. Uh, just one question. That big box of cookies, is that for me?!?

Hi this is Mazzie from Four Paws Bed and Biscuit again, reporting on our July 4th festivities. We started out with a Bubbles Pawty. The FPB&B figured bubbles were better than fireworks. (As fireworks will scare some of our guests). Some of the guests liked the bubbles and some did not. Below will be a few pictures of the ones that did. Next was the Photo shoots. We had some guests that did not want their picture taken. I am thinking they are in the witness protection program. They would only show their backside with a tail salute. Some of the guests did enjoy taking pictures and they are shown below also. And lastly, the 4th of July cook out of Hot dogs and sweet potato chips. All the guest gave us 4paws for the meal (the hot dogs were the biggest hit) We have pictures of the meal and a few pups who showed how much they liked it. All had a Great 4th of July at the 4PB&B and we hope everyone else had a safe and Great 4th. This is Mazzie pawing out, until my next report.

This is Mazzie again from Team Four Paws Bed and Biscuit (FPB&B). I am reporting that we had a few activities today. It was hot and most of the pups wanted to get back into the air conditioning. However, early afternoon we had a bubble pawty. It went over ok, like I said most pups wanted to get back into the air. But we did get some good pictures. (Pictures of today's events will be posted either later tonight or tomorrow) There was also some patriotic photo sessions that were sprinkled in through the day. Once again, it was hot and there were only a few that wanted their picture taken today. Hopefully, we can fit the rest in this weekend. The cookout was a hit. Everyone liked the grilled Hot Dogs and Sweet Potato chips. Treats later tonight will be Frozen Paw prints with strawberries. We want to see if they are as big a hit as the blueberries were last night. This is Mazzie pawing out, until my next report.

This is Mazzie from Team Four Paws Bed and Biscuit (FPB&B) reporting on a start of a Patriotic July 4th weekend here at the FPB&B. All guests arrived and were greeted with our “Tail Waggin Award” neck and butt rubs. After settling in, each guest enjoyed some fresh air and a romp around the grounds. There also was the nightly “Stoop Sessions” where guests were given the weekend itinerary, an ear/butt rubs, and caught up on the latest sports news, a Twins loss😞 And lastly the bed time treat tonight was frozen yogurt with blue berries. (they were rated 9 🐾out of 10 🐾 by our guests). This is Mazzie pawing out, until my next report.
