Carlton is a distinguished gentleman, around 5-7 years old, 62 lbs, and seems like a lab/shepherd mix. We have no idea why a good boy like him needed rescuing from a high volume shelter’s dreaded ‘list’, but we were glad to help because he didn’t deserve to be there and his forever family is going to be lucky.

Carlton could easily boast about his intelligence, house guest skills, good behavior in a crate/kennel, dreamy leash walking skills, car riding skills, gentle loving way with people, and dog friendly self, but he’s not really the boasting type. He’s more of the quiet, wise, humble, lower maintenance, appreciative type. It’s clear he has experience being a good boy, living in a home before, and he seems pretty well adjusted.

So if you are looking for a pal that will appreciate whatever you can give without much fuss and offer him long term love and stability, please apply for him. Carlton is clearing a low grade heartworm infection courtesy of Texas and recently had some dental work, so he is healthy guy ready for the best years of his life.

Ducky the Not-So-Ugly Duckling 🐥💙 who somehow skipped the awkward phase and went straight to ridiculously handsome good boy. This 4 month old, 20 lb, brown-haired, icy-blue-eyed boy has a snowy white chest, spotted little feet, and a tail that looks like he dipped the tip in a fresh can of white paint. 🎨🐾 We’re not 100% sure what his breed is, but we are 100% sure he’s a good boy. Although those ears make Shepherd pretty hard to ignore.

Ducky is one smart cookie—and highly food motivated, so he’s basically ready to be bribed into becoming the world’s best dog. 😂 He already knows sit and down, walks nicely on leash, and is kennel trained — but can protest some during the day. He’s doing great with potty training when kept on a consistent puppy schedule.

He’s dog-friendly, medium-to-high energy, and looking for a family who’s ready to keep his clever brain busy and committed to continuing his training. Ducky has the potential to be an incredible adventure buddy, devoted companion, and professional treat inspector. 🥰

If you’re looking for a handsome blue-eyed boy with brains and beauty, Ducky might just be your guy. 💙🐾

All he needs now is a family to help him grow into the amazing dog we know he can be! 🏡

Meet Malla, our sweet, happy little Wookie! 🩷

This 1.5-year-old poodle mix (yes, she sheds) may be a little shy when you first meet her, but give her about 30 seconds and she’ll decide you’re her new best friend—and she’d like to snuggle, please. 🥰. At only 11 lbs, she’s the perfect snuggle buddy.

Malla loves playing with her canine foster siblings and is wonderfully friendly with dogs, cats, chickens, and people. She’s crate trained and seems to be potty trained, although her leash skills are still very much a work in progress.

If you’re looking for a happy, affectionate little sidekick with an adorable Wookie vibe, Malla might be your girl. ❤️

This sweet, 2-year-old, Tibetan Spaniel mix has been through a LOT. He came from a home with 50+ dogs, yet somehow, he’s emerged as a remarkably resilient little guy who is learning that life can be pretty wonderful.

Wilson is a quiet, low-to-medium-energy boy who is happiest napping, cuddling, and hanging out with his person. Once he bonds with you, he bonds HARD. He becomes your affectionate little shadow and wants nothing more than to be by your side. He’s still a little skeptical of new people, but he’s slowly warming up and we’re confident that will continue with time.

He enjoys walks with his person and is an easy leash walker, although passing cars make him a little nervous. He’s doing great with house and crate training, but a fenced yard is a must. He loves lounging outside—and apparently has also invented his own version of a kiddie pool. When it’s hot, Wilson sloshes water out of his bowl, makes himself a cool little puddle, and plops right down in it. 😂 Genius? Absolutely.

Wilson is dog-friendly and coexists beautifully with other dogs, although he’s not quite ready to join the playgroup just yet.

His ideal home is quiet and calm, without lots of people coming and going. He needs a gentle, patient person who understands that he’s been through a lot and will give him the time and space to come out of his shell at his own pace.

Wilson doesn’t need a busy life. He just needs someone who will show him that he’s finally safe, loved, and home. And once he chooses you, you’ll have yourself one very devoted little shadow. 🩷

Gina would like you to know mature dogs are where it’s at! You know what you are getting in terms of their personality and size, they have been around the block a few times, they are used living in a home, they have life experience, and they know who they are. Many humans overlook dogs like Gina due to age, and it isn’t fair.

Gina is a medium sized (currently 48 pound but should be closer to 40) 8 year old cattle dog (we assume) mix with the most adorable underbite! She was adopted as a puppy and somehow her world was turned upside down when she ended back up at the same high volume shelter after 8 years ☹️. Understandably, she was very confused why she was there. But shelter staff vouched for her repeatedly, and she even got a couple of extensions on the dreaded ‘list’ because of how well behaved and likable she was there. We tagged her in the nick of time. And, after meeting her ourselves, we concur that whatever the reason her prior family was separated from her, it wasn’t Gina’s fault.

Gina is pretty low maintenance and is a little standoffish at first, but it doesn’t take her long to make friends. She is pretty easy on leash, interacts well with other dogs, is crate trained and seems house trained. If you are looking for a wonderful friend who just wants a home to chill, feel safe, and give and receive unconditional love, please apply for this girl. She is very sweet and has been an easy keeper in her foster home. Gina promises to be a good girl for you and change your life for the better, so please give her a chance at her forever home.

Meet Lacey Lou! 💕 This beautiful 4-year-old Border Collie/German Shepherd mix is a total sweetheart who just wants to be loved. Sit down and she’ll happily rest her head in your lap—her favorite place is right next to her person.

Lacey is crate trained, house trained, walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and is great with other dogs. She was raised with children and does wonderfully with them. She’s very interested in cats, but she’s learning that the resident feline is, in fact, a permanent member of the household.

Lacey Lou was adopted from MHCR as a puppy, but after her family split up, she was given away and eventually ended up in a local Colorado shelter. We’re so happy to have found her again and are determined to help her find the peaceful, loving, forever home she deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate, loyal girl who wants nothing more than to be your best friend, Lacey Lou might be your girl. ❤️
