Mile High Canine Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3, Colorado non-profit organization established in 2019. We are 100% volunteer and foster home based.

MHCR aims to provide homeless dogs a loving home to grow and learn in until a suitable forever home is found.

Murphy the mutt is a 3.5 year old boy that we suspect is lab/husky/pittie mix. He is an happy guy, around 60 lbs, and a friend to all. Murphy loves people and is great with kids! He does have a constantly wiggling hiney with a strong tail, so shorter humans should beware. He loves eating blueberries, singing with fire trucks and can fully dribble a soccer ball. His excitement and rough play style can be a little much for some other dogs, but he generally does well in playgroups. However, Murphy doesn’t want to share his home with canine friends. Murphy is quite the adventurer and has summited many mountains, co-piloted many road trips and spent many nights camping under the stars. He loves a lot of time outdoors and has a strong drive for hiking, running and other hard play. Murphy would do best with a yard and humans who will give him lots of daily attention and activity.

Beautiful Biscuit is an approximately 6-month-old female, Great Pyrenees mix. She has an ultra-soft, velvety coat and loves to roll over on her back for belly rubs. Biscuit has been raised with toddlers and is great with kids. She readily greets strangers and is very dog friendly. She can be slightly aloof, as is typical for the breed, however she’s always game for ear scratches and lovings without all the snuggles involved. Biscuit is crate-trained and nearly fully house-trained. She would do fine in a home with or without other canine friends, however, a fenced yard is a must.

Duchess, aka “Dutchie” for short, is a snuggly, cuddly, playful, 10-week-old, Aussie. She has the cutest little nubbin that wiggles with her entire body. Duchess is a product of a merle-to-merle breeding, known as a double merle. She is hard of hearing, but she can see! Sometimes double merle pups can’t see or hear, so she’s a lucky one! Duchess is great with dogs and will thrive sharing her home with one (or a few). She is crate trained and is mastering the art of house training with a doggie door in her foster home. C’mon, don’t you need a Dutchie in your life? Apply today!

We are cuckoo for Coconut! Look at this gorgeous, double-merle guy looking for his forever home. Coconut is a 10-week-old, Aussie and he’s the product of a merle-to-merle breeding. This has resulted in him being hard of hearing. He DOES have vision, which is a bonus for dogs like him! Coconut LOVES dog friends and ideally will have a dog or two in his forever home. He sleeps quietly in his crate at night and is mastering the art of house training while in his foster home. Often times, when deaf dogs are with hearing dogs in a home, you can’t even tell that they’re deaf except for how soundly they sleep. Coconut is one of those dogs. He’s happy, friendly, and loves attention from his humans. Don’t delay!

Allow us to introduce you to Finn! This handsome guy is about a year old and hits the scales at around 20 lbs (he’s fully grown). Finn is a fella on the move. He likes to play and provide entertainment for those around him, enjoying an audience of both cats and dogs. He will be best suited in a home with a privacy fence (thank you to the Jack Russell Terrier we believe is in his bones) as he has springs on his feet and can jump at 4ft fence. He would LOVE a playful canine companion that enjoys romping around in the yard followed by serious snuggles for a nap. Finn is a delightful character and is excited to find a true forever home here in the land of Colorado.

Stitch is a playful and loving boy. So far, in foster care, he’s doing amazing with his house and crate training. Stitch is around 5 months old. He’s great with dogs and loves to wrestle and play. Stitch enjoys chewing bones and sunbathing in a nice, warm, sunny spot. Stitch is presently around 15 lbs. We suspect he will mature under 25 lbs.
