The Carroll County Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter in McKenzie, Tennessee with no-kill being defined as not euthanizing for time or space. This means no animal is euthanized because they have been at the shelter too long or to make room for another animal waiting to come in. If there is a need to euthanize, it is on a case by case basis relating to health and temper. We are a 501(c)(3)

non-profit organization, with funding coming entirely from private contributions, bequeaths, fundraising and grants.

Copper!

Copper is proof that you don’t have to be big to have a BIG personality! At about 10 pounds, this happy little guy has just the right amount of zoomies. He loves to run and play for a few minutes, then he is ready to clock out and become a professional lap dog.

Copper gets along great with his little buddy Douglas, so he knows how to share his space with another pup. Cats, however… absolutely terrifying.
