☀️ What. A. Week. ☀️

Summer camp at Wild Acres is in full swing, and this week was packed with unforgettable animal encounters, laughs, learning, and plenty of sunscreen! 🐾

🦍 On Monkey Monday, campers met some of our most curious and clever primates.
🦔 Rodent Day brought us up close with porcupines and capybaras (spoiler: the capybaras stole everyone’s hearts).
🦁 Carnivore Day was all about big paws and sharp teeth—with visits from tigers, leopards, and even a baby wolf named Echo!
🦘 And throughout the week, campers got hands-on with emus, fennec foxes, and so much more.

We wrapped it all up today with Water Day—a Wild Acres favorite! The older kids got to swim with our otters and capybaras (yes, really), while the younger campers had a blast on the giant inflatable water slide. 💦🦦🌊

🦁🐅🖤 Carnivore Day at Wild Acres Summer Camp! 🖤🐅🦁

Today our campers went wild learning about carnivores from all around the world! From tigers to leopards to mountain lions, the kids got up close and personal with some of nature’s fiercest predators—and absolutely loved it. 😍

But let’s be honest… is it even really Carnivore Day if you don’t get to meet a baby wolf? 🐺✨

Our youngest campers melted over little Echo, our juvenile wolf, who stole the show with his big paws and curious personality. He’s growing fast, and our campers were thrilled to learn about his species and the important role wolves play in the wild.

It’s been a ROAR-some day of learning, laughing, and making memories that will last a lifetime. 💫

🐵✨ We kicked off our Wild Acres Summer Camp to a great start, and the 13–15-year-old crew is having a wild week! 🐾

Yesterday, they got to meet our monkeys, enjoy a Creature Feature with the fennec foxes 🦊, and even helped build termite mounds for our tamandua (a lesser anteater species)! 🐜🙌

Today was all about Stewie the emu 🐣 and our chill capybaras! 🦔💦 The campers learned all about rodents of the world and got hands-on with some of the coolest critters around!

This week’s just getting started and we’re loving every second! 🌞🦓

🦦🌏 Happy World Otter Day! 🌏🦦

Meet Billie & Jellie, our adorable Asian small-clawed otters here at Wild Acres! 💦 These tiny otters may be the smallest of all otter species, but they’ve got big personalities and even bigger hearts. 💛

Native to the wetlands and rivers of Southeast Asia, Asian small-clawed otters are known for their clever paws, which they use to catch crabs, clams, and other tasty treats. They’re incredibly social, playful, and full of energy — just like Billie and Jellie, who we’re lucky enough to work with every single day. 🥰

💧 And guess what? YOU can swim with them all summer long! Watching them dive, splash, and zip through the water is an experience like no other — and one you’ll never forget. 😍

We’re beyond grateful to share our lives with these curious, charismatic cuties. They remind us why it’s so important to protect otters and their habitats around the world.
