Classes June 5/6

This will be different this weekend. First, because of the weather being hot, we are doing Friday and Saturday mornings. Second, I will be doing Open, Novice and an Intro Seminar, minimum 4 dogs in a seminar, for those that are entered or interested in entering the Cambridge trials and need work to get ready to trial. I want to start each morning at 8:00 so it is cooler and be done by 1:00 or so. If your dog is master/senior, entered the trials, and needs work on indications mention that in the email. We can work on that in an Open class. If you are not planning to attend the trials but would like to come, you will be added if there is room. Please let me know your plans when emailing.
You MUST email me, [email protected], with your dog’s NAME and BREED, which day/time is best and the CLASS you are wanting. They are in Inver Grove Heights and $30/dog. I try to do 4 dogs/class hour. I will make the schedule up ASAP and send out confirmation emails. To see if the weather changes, I will not send a PayPal invoice til Wednesday night. The shed is not temperature controlled and at a private residence. There is NO public bathroom. Details and address will be sent out once I receive payment. Once you sign up and pay, there are no refunds unless I can replace your run.
Hope this all made sense!! I hate hot weather!!! 😫

The weather keeps changing between 82 and 87 degrees for Saturday. 82 is still warm but might be doable. Dogs do NOT work in hot weather and classes before a trial is not when you want to leave the ring with a bad memory of the game. I’m going to give it a couple more days. I may add Friday morning if that stays cooler. Who can want to come and who could do Friday morning?

I mentioned having classes June 6/7. I have been watching the weather and looks like it is going to be mid 80’s. If the forecast stays that hot, I will need to cancel. The shed gets WAY TO HOT by noon. If it looks to be a bit cooler, I may have lower level classes in the morning for those that are wanting a class before the Cambridge show. Keep tuned in.

For those that may not have been at our trials when the Louie Spirit Award has been given out, Brenda Hinkemeyer, my secretary, was the latest recipient. It is an award that I give out sporadically to a person, team or dog that I feel represents the meaning of the award. Louie was my first barn hunt dog and he LIVED for hunting. He was and still is the highest titled Border Terrier when he passed tragically in 2023. He was the reason Bales and Tails came to be. He had a style of hunting that was known states away. Ribbons were everything to me when I started competing in the performance world with totes filled with them. I started giving them back to clubs and kept the most meaningful ones, still totes full. His barn hunt career ended with a RATCHX38 and CZY8P4B. I would give all those ribbons back if he could still be with me. What I do now is decide who will be the next recipient, what colors they would love and gather his ribbons together to make a special one for them. Brenda Holmen, Ravishing Rosettes, brings my vision for each special ribbon to reality with many tears when each ribbon is delivered and handed out. Brenda was with me from the start and hopefully til this journey ends. Even though she is not an owner of the club, many thinks she is because of her dedication and hard work she does with every event we put on. With her barn hunt foundation dog, Xylo, passing last year, it only seemed like a perfect moment to receive this award in memory of him. He is currently the highest titled Siberian.
