In October, we attended a major poultry show in MI. Elizabeth picked up two new pullets- a Svarthona (because she’s always wanted an all black bird) and this beautiful Copper Maran who had started laying eggs a couple weeks ago. Very erratically and with rough shells as her system worked itself out.

Today was the first time she laid a GORGEOUS dark chocolate egg which is what make Copper Marans special. 🤎

We’ve had several people ask for red and copper Satins. These guys are going to convention and looking for new homes.

Still available: 2 copper bucks and 1 red buck. They are from Dan-O x copper doe (won 4/8 Junior doe at 2023 convention as a 4 month old). They are red based so have good rufus.

Thanks to Blood Sweat & Tears rabbit and cavy club for a great show today. Chuck took BOV and BOSV with his reds in show B and one of his bucks sired the BOV copper and BOV/BOSV Reds in show A!

Elizabeth took only American cavies and took Best in Show with her silver solid sow. Thanks to Mary Lou Eisle for recognizing this little girl ❤️

Last night, I (Lisa) did chores while Chuck ran a couple errands. It’s been some time since I’ve been in the barn so imagine my delight when I got to snuggle babies at my favorite chubby, squishy phase 🥰

Elizabeth is very proud to have been asked to donate an American cavy to the Lone Star Cavy Club acution to help raise funds for 2026 ACBA National speciality show. She went through all of her animals to find a good one - if she wasn’t narrowing down her focus to silver solids, she would likely have kept this girl 💛🖤 Bidding starts October 10 and ends the 13th. Thank you Just for Fun Rabbit and Cavy Club for a great show today. Elizabeth was awarded Reserve in Show for OPEN against some outstanding animals. Thanks to Kelly Hansen for recognizing her American Satin. He also took BOB under Dale Mize.

Chuck also took BOV & BOSV Copper and Red and got a hard second look with his red doe for Best of Breed ❤️

Tails of Triumph has finally come out of our new home stupor to go over some juniors and attend a show. It’s been a long 6 months since the rabbits have been in front of a judge. And this little copper buck was being so sassy! But Chuck did get some great comments on his up-and-coming rides and his little copper Junior doe. So we’re excited to see what this fall holds.

For those interested in Elizabeth’s cavies, I’m going to have her go through them this week and we will have some at Coldwater on Saturday looking for a new home And I will be posting photos of what she has.

Elizabeth has made the really difficult decision to find new homes for her red sows, REO boar, and some, if not all, of her her red Cals. She’s decided to focus on her silver solids and golden solids as she’s starting college soon and is having difficulty keeping up with everything. She does have some silver solid boars that are ready to find new homes too.

Elizabeth has two silver solid 🩶 boars and a golden solid 💛 boar looking for new place to munch some greens 🥬 . They’ll be coming to Michigan Cavy Congress on Saturday! Here’s one of the silver boars (he and the golden solid are brothers - out of Elizabeth’s golden solid sow and Kili. Her foundation silver boar).

Anyone who truly knows me (Lisa) knows that I am NOT a chicken person. Bad experiences during poultry labs during my MSU days have left me leery. But I’m trying to become more comfortable and these Plymouth Blue Rocks are so docile and sweet. Buck is a pretty cool rooster too (so far). If you’re in the market for fresh, home grown, well loved whole meat chickens, Elizabeth will have two pens in the small animal auction on August 2 ;)

Elizabeth is going to have some Silver Solid boars for sale at Michigan Cavy Congress.

Some from this beautiful golden solid sow and her foundation silver solid boar.

And one likely from a silver solid x silver solid cross.

Cant take photos as she hasn’t made any decisions as to who is going yet but she has SEVEN! Baby boars so some have to go! She’s heading to New Mexico now for a backpacking trip so decisions will have to made once she gets back. But just a heads up 🥰
