A last-minute opening just became available at my dog-friendly beach house in Marshfield!

📅 Available: August 24 – September 1

Located across the street from Sunrise Beach, so there is no need to drive to the beach.

🇺🇸 Fireworks are fun for us… but they can be terrifying for our dogs.

Did you know the days surrounding the Fourth of July are among the busiest of the year for lost pets? Animal shelters and animal control agencies often report a 30–60% increase in missing pets between July 4th and July 6th as frightened dogs panic and escape.

A few simple steps can make all the difference:

🏡 Bring your dog inside before fireworks begin.

🏷️ Make sure your dog’s ID tags are on and easy to read. (A microchip is even better!)

📺 Turn on the TV, radio, or white noise to help mask the sound of fireworks.

🪟 Close windows, pull blinds, and secure doors and gates.

🛏️ If your dog loves their crate, let it be their safe place. Covering part of the crate with a blanket can help create a cozy den.

🦴 Offer a stuffed Kong, chew, or enrichment activity before the fireworks start.

😌 Stay calm. Our dogs often take emotional cues from us.

❤️ Remember, even dogs that have never been afraid before can panic unexpectedly.

Let’s help keep every dog safe, comfortable, and home where they belong this Independence Day.

Wally is fully embracing his Golden Retriever roots. ☀️🌱

Today’s activity? Finding the perfect patch of grass and rolling around like it was the greatest thing on earth.

No toys.
No treats.
No agenda.

Just pure joy.

One of the things I love about dogs is how easily they remind us to enjoy the simple things. A sunny day, a soft lawn, and a few minutes to be completely present.

Wally certainly understood the assignment today. 💛

This is why I do what I do.

This sweet 14-month-old Golden came in feeling overwhelmed, reactive, and hard to manage. After just a few sessions, things started to shift in a big way.

When you focus on communication, clarity, and helping a dog learn how to relax, everything else becomes easier.

So proud of this dog and this family for putting in the work 🐾💛

A lot of people don’t realize this…

When you pour kibble directly into a plastic container, the oils in the food can interact with the plastic over time.

👉 That can lead to chemical leaching and faster spoilage of the food.

Even “pet-safe” plastic isn’t always ideal for long-term contact with fatty foods like kibble.

Here’s the better way to do it:

✔️ Keep the food in the original bag (it’s designed to protect it)
✔️ Then place the whole bag inside your storage container
✔️ Or use stainless steel or glass for a cleaner option

This keeps the food fresher, safer, and more stable for your dog.

Small changes like this = big impact over time.

Most dogs aren’t struggling because of one big mistake…
it’s the small daily habits that add up.
