Searcy County Humane Society Our Mission is to care for unwanted and abandoned Dogs by placing them on a path to loving caring homes. Our Shelter intake last year (2025) was 181 Dogs.

And to educate the Public about responsible Humane pet care and over population thru social media and by providing Veterinary Clinics to our area! And Last year (2025) our shelter had a 100 percent success rate on Dogs getting adopted. This is calculated by number of dogs that lost their lives to old age (0) by number of dogs that were adopted in county and out of county (181) and then we X that n

umber by 100. This year we are on track to have an even higher percentage saved. Older Dogs that are free now where ethnized (in 2023) when the veterinarian deemed their quality of life was not good due to blindness, strokes, and arthritis. We strive to save all but we will not let Dogs suffer in pain when it is time to let go. We are adding these statistics for complete transparency in our practices.

Here are our dogs we have up for adoption. Look at pictures below and if you see one you are interested in. Remember most of these dogs were strays and ages are an estimated guess. People need to understand. We are all volunteers here at the Searcy County Humane Society we run on donations only. We get no funds from any towns in Searcy county area and we are not animal control. When you call about a dog, rather a stray or owner surrender and i say we are full that means I can not magically make a kennel. I will not over crowd or put stress on the dogs I have at the shelter or my volunteers. We work hard everyday to take care of these dogs and get them in good health so we can try and find homes for them. We just got 2 adopted we have had at shelter for over a year and half. They came in as 8 week old puppies and finally found homes up north where they will be loved and cared for. So if you really want to help get with your neighbors, your friends and their friends and spay n neuter your pets, rather it be a dog or cat. This is the only way we are going to stop this dumping of dogs or cats. Before you decide you want to breed your dog because you want a puppy from it, stop and think what are you going to do with the other 10 or 11 it had. Please stop breeding dogs an cats. There is no where for them to go. Spay and Neuter is the answer.

There was 3 but the family who found them is keeping one an the other 2 is at the shelter. There sheriff department is aware an we will find you. Shame on you again. The momma needs fixed.

Rex and Rocky had a fun outing at the river! Both had a blast and we are pretty sure they may be mixed with river otter ;)
