Lisa and I (Janie but some of you may remember me by another name:) want to wish you all a happy pride month! No matter what flag you fly from straight to gay, cis to trans or any color of the rainbow, we wish you a beautiful month full of love and joy.
When we opened this store, we both struggled with our identities, we worried we’d be shunned, boycotted or bankrupted but we have learned something about the greater Cedar Rapids area, you people are fabulous!
Lisa and I did kind of vanish from this business, and for that, we apologize. It’s not from lack of love for it or you or animals, it was PTSD caused by a violent, vicious employee. We’ve had time to heal but have started a passion business, Fancy Plants & we spend our days growing it.
We’ve left you in capable hands, Brandi is a passionate manager with extensive animal knowledge, she was the first in this city that I felt safe with coming out as trans❤️.
We hope you’ll forgive our absence, we miss you all! We also hope you know, if you need to see us or chat, it can be arranged but for now we’re going to continue to leave you in Brandi’s loving hands.
