Getting out and about and using what we have been learning in the real world is an important part of my approach to training.

Most people want to get their dogs out and enjoy the world; whether that is for a hike, visiting a local park, a dog friendly store, or even a brewery. I can help you achieve that goal.

Olive!
Such a sweet, smart and beautiful girl.

I have been working with her family for the last month on building her confidence and leash frustration (especially when she sees a dog). They have the basics down, they just needed some extra support.

She is doing amazing! Positive reinforcement and consistency are key.

Her people are committed to helping her succeed. I am so proud of her and her family!

My job is so rewarding! A few months ago, I introduced you to Teagan, a shy fearful, under socialized dog that had recently been adopted. Her people continue to be committed to her and helping her live her best life.

Teagan is a different dog than the one I met a few months ago. By going slow, being consistent, using positive reinforcement, and listening to Teagan (reading her body language), Teagan IS living her best life. She is happy! She is ok in the car now (still not her favorite thing) and enjoys lots of sniffs at a local park. She has grown so much! I am proud of her and her people. She is a resilient pup. And one lucky dog!

This is truly rewarding. I am thankful for my clients.

Puppies, puppies, puppies! I am having a lot of fun working with Honey, Junie, and Champ!

My puppy package is designed to help puppies become fantastic family dogs. My focus is on helping puppies be confident, calm, and comfortable in our world.

It is designed for puppies five months and under. The package includes five hour long coaching sessions and includes a snuffle mat Piggy Poo and Crew, Zuke's Natural Dog Treats puppy treats, and a Best in Dog branded treat pouch.

We will focus on how puppies learn, managing your learning and living environment, and meeting your puppies needs through enrichment. We will use positive reinforcement which helps your puppy learn and builds a strong relationship built on trust.

For older puppies, like these three, we will learn some basic skills, including leash walking, recall, and relaxing.

We just finished up another intro to dog parkour class! Always a lot of fun!

We learned to put 2 feet on, 4 feet on, go over, go under, go in, go around, balance, and go through a variety of obstacles. We learned how to use our “parkour eye” and how to safely spot our dogs. As well as how to creatively use one obstacle for several skills or a sequence of different obstacles for different skills.

If you want to try dog parkour with your dog, I will be offering another intro class in April/May. Thursday from 6:00-7:00 starting April 24th for four weeks. If you are interested, please let me know.

I had such a great time working with Finley and her person! Again, I am so thankful I get to work with the very best clients!

Finley is a shy girl. Her person is committed to helping her gain confidence. We have been working in public spaces on reading body language, giving her space, and helping her develop confidence in the real world.
She's a superstar!

We found that Finley loves dog parkour! She lights up when she is engaging with her person and learning new things! Parkour is a great way to build confidence, communication, and relationships.

Meet Harper! She is a beautiful Vizsla with lots of energy. She was recently adopted and her family is committed to helping her settle in to her new home. I have been providing support with decompression, management and some initial training. So far she is settling in nicely!

When you first welcome a dog into your home, please remember the importance of decompression. It is important for your new dog to have time to relax, settle in and learn the rules of their new home.

One way you can help them understand the new rules is to put some management strategies in place. This may include crating your dog or using baby gates so that you can keep them out of the kitchen or in your office while you work. Having management strategies in place means that your dog can’t practice undesirable behaviors, like counter surfing. It also helps with potty training.

And remember to reinforce the behaviors you want your dog to engage in! Harper has been working on coming when called. She is a super star with recall! I love playing the recall game with clients and their dogs.

We have been using the snuffle mat to help her settle when her person is working in her home office. Sniffing is relaxing. By pairing the snuffle mat/sniffing with hanging out in her person’s office, she will learn to settle during those times.

Congrats to Harper and her new family!

My ❤️ is full! I am thankful for my clients and the love and care they have for their dogs.

I have been working with Maple and her family for the last several months. She was adopted from Cobb County Animal Services in November. She is an adolescent pup, with the typical qualities of an adolescent dog; lack of impulse control, jumpy, mouthy, nippy, no leash manners and to top it off a car chaser.

Her family is committed to her success. They are committed to positive reinforcement training, providing enrichment to meet her needs, and to accepting Maple as the individual she is.

Maple is doing incredibly well!! 😊 She has grown so much in the last few months!! She also took my parkour class.

Maple is a very lucky dog who has hit the jackpot many times over! So thankful that Maple has found the home she truly deserves! I love my job!

I am thankful for experiences that “fill my cup”.

I had that opportunity yesterday to do just that. I got to present to a group of amazing young gentlemen with the Black Rhinos program at LifeLine Animal Project Fulton County Animal Services about dog training; how dogs learn, the power of positive reinforcement, enrichment, body language, and careers. They were engaged and attentive.

A big thank you to the scholars, their mentors, Meera, and Lifeline for the opportunity. And Tickles, she is available for adoption.

He is a sweet heart. His people are committed to setting him up for success. Boobie has had a chance to decompress and settle into his new home. We put some management strategies in place so he wouldn’t practice undesirable behaviors. And now we are working on reinforcing desirable behaviors and teaching him new skills, including leash walking. We are also making sure his needs are being met with enrichment.

If you have recently adopted from a shelter or rescue, please remember the importance of decompression, management, and reinforcement to help setting your dog up for success.

If you have adopted or plan to do so, as a thank you for adopting, I offer a 10% discount on training for dogs adopted from a shelter, the Humane Society, or a reputable rescue organization.

All my packages come with a snuffle mat from Piggy Poo and Crew, a Best in Dog branded treat pouch , and, and Big Daddy Biscuits

Meet Finley! This sweet girl is shy and lacks confidence. She is cautious and uncertain in new environments and when meeting new people. Her person is committed to helping her gain confidence and feel more comfortable in the world.

I love working with shy dogs. It is truly rewarding to see them grown and gain. When helping a dog to build confidence, remember that positive reinforcement, time, and space are essential.

I support my people clients in helping them learn to read their dog’s body language so they know when to give them more space or move out of a situation all together.

Enrichment plays a big role in what I do as well, I encourage lots of sniffing, foraging, licking, and chewing enrichment. Tapping into innate dog behaviors that reinforce calm and feeling good is important.

Once a dog is comfortable, then I encourage engaging enrichment, like games, and teaching parkour or tricks. The dog is much more open to learning at this point and learning new things helps build confidence.

For our most recent session we met at Sniffspot which was a safe new environment for Finley. Once she had a chance to sniff and get more comfortable, she opened up and played some fetch and the recall game. So much joy!
