Picking up the p00p is not always about picking up the p00p.
It’s about taking the initiative and responsibility for the care of your community.
It’s about realizing that if you don’t do it, if you don’t take action to make your world, your community, your home a better place, that quite possibly no one else will.
It’s about leading by example, and being a role model.
It’s about caring enough to do something that might not benefit you personally, but understanding how the community at large is affected.
It’s about doing a good deed for the sake of doing something good.
It’s quite simply about being a good human in this world.
So next time you see something that might not be your mess to clean up, remember that it’s not always about who made the mess, and it’s not always about picking up the p00p.

Close you fingers… close your fingers… close your fingers….

Close you fingers… close your fingers… close your fingers….

Because visual learning just hits different 👀
Finding the right feel in your reins starts with your fingers. Too loose, and you lose connection. Too tight, and you risk tension in the whole body,
yours and your horse’s.

👉 Let’s break it down:
a. ✅ Correct – Fingers softly closed, fingertips touching the palm. You maintain light, consistent contact without gripping.
b. ❌ Incorrect – Fingers open. This weakens the connection and creates an unstable line to the bit.
c. ❌ Incorrect – Fist clenched. Tension travels up the arm, restricting softness in the hand and communication with your horse.

It’s all about that sweet spot: closed enough to hold, soft enough to feel. 🖐️

As promised, and well overdue results from our wonderful day at South Coast
💜 Reiss in her horse showing debut & NASHVILLE were Reserve Champion in the Short Stirrup Eq & won a Short Stirrup Hunter Class
💜Caitlin showed THE ARTIST off - they were so relaxed and Caitlin did the best navigating in a big class! They were 2nd, 4th, & 4th in the Novice Flat.
💜Caroline & NASHVILLE were Champion in the Novice Flat
💜Lucy had a day of learning in her show debut with her own FK FLYIN FOR FAME. They were 4th in the Sr Walk Trot
💜Sydney in her very first show with GLYNHAFAN BISCOTTI won a class in the Jr Walk Trot ended up Reserve Champion. It warmed our hearts to see Scotty back out horse showing after a challenging year.
💜 Kim & THE ARTIST had seconds across the board in the Sr. Walk Trot in Kim’s very first horse show.
💜Sienna & her family’s TOBLERONE stepped into the ring for the first time together and ended up Reserve Champion in the Sr. Walk Trot
💜Ari & BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED had a fun day in the Jr. Walk Trot with good ribbons in every class

We had a big group and we our day ran smoothly thanks to the incomparable .a.shupe, .h_eq and all of our fabulous kids. They were an extra set of hands anytime we needed it, had plenty of encouraging words, and smiles all day long. The more experienced kids were fabulous role models for the ones who were new to showing, and spent the day showing them the ropes. Thanks & for putting on a great show!

Today was all about learning the basics for our new riders. It was so much fun to watch them discover the joy horses bring us, and to watch our more advanced riders taking on the role of mentor and role model.

We’re Hiring!! Immediate opening for a full time person or multiple part time people. Days somewhat flexible. *Must Love Kids* we have a robust kids program and they are the heart of what we do. Salaried position, paid time off, a low key, positive, friendly, and fun environment. Must have hands on horse experience and be able to work solo. We’d prefer someone in it for the long haul, but would take on a temp hire while we find the right match.
Message me to get started.

We went to a horseshow today. And later, when I’ve recharged, I will share all of the wonderful things all of our riders did. But right now, what’s really giving me all the feels was the team spirit, support, and positivity that each of our riders showed to the others today.
I was at the in gate watching a flat class, with most of the kids a short distance behind me. When our rider in the ring did a flawless walk to canter transition I could hear them right behind me squeal “YES!” In their quietest excited whispers. That really got me.
They helped each other learn courses, cheered for rounds and ribbons, and helped as needed all day. We talk so much about being role models, and boy did they show off the best parts of this sport today.
Yes, the riding was fun and great, but the spirit that they all brought today truly made me proud. Keep up the good work, girls!

I took shockingly few pictures this week, but our first summer horsemanship week was fantastic. There was so much great riding and learning, and our older groups closed out the week with an escape room. Thank goodness they all made it out!

Last night, Mor Linn Farm in Walpole experienced every horse owner’s worst nightmare. With incredible courage and selflessness, the Kennedy’s were able to rescue 10 horses. That they are grieving the the loss of 8 beloved horses and their hundred year old barn. The horse community is a place where we come together and life each other back up. Please do what you can - every bit helps.

Just donated to help a local farm devastated by a fire. They lost so much, including beloved horses. Every bit helps. Please consider sharing or donating to support them.
