We had some extra time before heading to the , so we stopped by Rainforest Flora to check them out, and WOW! By far, one of the coolest nurseries we’ve been to! Air plants, bromeliad, and aroid galore! 🌿

If you're wondering how the NEW Exo Terra Self-Regulating Heat Mat works, KEEP READING!

The superior PTC Carbon Fiber heating technology incorporates enhanced safety measures like an automatic fail-safe mechanism, rapid warm-up capabilities, and a self-regulating maximum temperature! But how does it work?

The heat mat regulates its own temperature due to the PTC carbon fibers expanding when they reach their temperature limit (122F). Once the carbon fibers reach their temperature limit, they draw less current and produce less heat!

These expanding carbon fibers will also allow the Heat Mat to lower the surface temperature locally if an animal is covering part of the heat mat! The carbon fiber will expand underneath the animal, draw less current, and lower the temperature!

We still recommend providing sufficient space under the heat mat (not sandwiched between the tank and shelf), as well as using a Thermostat to provide the optimal temperature for your animal.
