Thousands of cats and dogs are put on the euthanasia list daily.
Most have not done anything wrong or exhibited any concerning behaviors.

It KILLS me to know that many of these animals will willingly
walk back to the euthanasia room smiling to themselves because they got out of their enclosures and think that something awesome is about to happen. A walk or maybe play time? 😭
They don’t know that it’s their last day.

If you have pets and aren’t spaying and neutering them
YOU are the problem.
YOU are the reason companion animals are losing their lives.
YOU are bringing more dogs and cats into a system that cannot absorb them.
“Oh but I found homes for the puppies or the kittens,” you say.
*Well good. But because of your irresponsibly, 8 others didn’t.*

It was black cat week for us! 9 cats done! (7Kittens, 2 adults) time to wash the traps and get them ready for next week 😋🙏 we did have 3 that weren’t black but I forgot to take pics of them before I released them!

Let me start off by saying I’m astonished and grateful by the amount of people that are receptive to my new page. On the flip side, it’s sad there is such a need for it… I have received calls from EVERYWHERE! All over Riley, Geary and Pott County… I do this because I have a deep rooted concern and love for Stray Cats. They do not deserve the life they have been given and I would like to think I can help them just a little bit by TNR. I am blessed that Prairie Paws Animal Shelter - Manhattan KS, and Kourtney Brodosi from our local animal control are so willing to help!

I am one person that does this on a social security income. I can only TNR Manhattan city limits and the immediate surrounding areas. I just don’t have the financial means to travel great distances. I can also only TNR if you are within the area that Prairie Paws services… in 4 months I have received donations of food and traps, as well as 150.00. Everyone knows the price of gas so if you can help it would be appreciated! I will continue to work on our feral cat population. It’s my calling!! 😋 If you would like to help I’m attaching my Venmo and Cashapp links!

Kittens having kittens. We see it way too often. Spay/neuter your cat(s)!

Kittens/cats are sexually mature by 4 MONTHS of age! ACT FAST before your kitten has kittens!

Cats can also get pregnant while they are still nursing a litter. A cat can have multiple litters per year; there is no time to waste!

Aside from the obvious benefit of population control, spaying a cat reduces her risk of mammary (breast) cancer by 25%, makes her less prone to urinary tract infections, and prevents uterine cancers. It also prevents pyometra, a deadly infection of the uterus.

Constant reproduction wreaks havoc on a female's body; it robs her body of nutrition and physically exhausts her. Sometimes, her body is not able to support the kittens, and they're either born deformed, are stillborn, or naturally aborted.

A spayed cat is a healthier, happier cat. Please spay/neuter your cat before 5 months of age.
