STATEN ISLAND, NY:
BREWSTER NEEDS A PLACEMENT BY SATURDAY AUGUST 29, 2026 BY 12PM & MUST BE PULLED BY A NEW HOPE PARTNER RESCUE: Hello, my name is Brewster . My animal id is . I am a desexed male gray tabby/white at the Staten Island Animal Care Center . The shelter thinks I am about 6 years 1 months 1 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a aco - owner surrender on 7/16/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person health - medical.
Sorry, this pet is for new hope partners only. Brewster is at-risk due to ongoing distance-increasing behaviors. When he first arrived at the Care Center, he was hissing and growling. During interactions, Brewster is now quick to escalate to lunging and swatting. When lunging, Brewster will smack his face into the den or into the kennel bars. Given his fearful behavior and inability to have successful interactions, it is in his best interest to be moved out of the kennel environment as quickly as possible. Brewtser would benefit from an experienced adopter with a stable, low-traffic environment. Medically, he has mild-moderate dental disease, alopecia, is underweight, and has been having diarrhea. I am looking for a home with a patient person.
I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.
I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.
