When Elmer the Beagle got his paws on some raw chocolate chip dough, things quickly took a turn! 🐶🍪

His pet parents brought him to UrgentVet Carytown, where the team acted quickly to help. With medication to induce vomiting, they discovered Elmer had eaten a whopping 2.4 pounds of dough! 🍞

Raw bread dough can be dangerous for pets because the yeast continues to ferment in their stomach, producing alcohol that can lead to toxicity. Add chocolate to the mix, and it's important to seek veterinary care right away.

Thankfully, Elmer got the care he needed!

When your pet runs into a bit of "Ruff Timing", UrgentVet is here to help. 🐾

When Russet’s family noticed him head bobbing and walking differently, they brought him to UrgentVet. Our team checked his blood glucose to rule out concerns like low blood sugar and seizures. Thankfully, it was normal, and fluids gave this tiny pup extra support. His family is monitoring him at home, and we hope he’s feeling like himself again soon. 🐾💙

If your pet is acting differently, UrgentVet is here with expert urgent care and reassurance when you need it. 🐶

Their athletic abilities are impressive, but even expert jumpers can have the occasional misstep.🐾

What’s the most impressive place your cat has managed to jump to? 👀

If your cat suddenly seems reluctant to jump, is limping, or isn’t moving like their usual self, it may be worth a closer look. Changes in mobility can sometimes signal an injury or other health concern.

If your cat needs care for an unexpected injury or illness, UrgentVet is here to help with urgent care when you need it. 💙
