This is Bill's opportunity to check out new and innovative products as well as connect with distributors and manufacturer reps. Bill is pictured here with Bryan Nieman, a member of the Fromm family. Fromm is a family owned pet food business now operated by fourth and fifth generations of the family!

Bill sends an alert that he found the first tick of the 2025 season on St. Patrick's Day. So, the ticks are "out there" and now is the time to take action to protect your pet from illnesses transmitted by tick bites.

This time of the month there is plenty of green-for St. Patty's Day and Eagles green. How about some green for your dog? We suggest adding green tripe to your pet's balanced diet. Green tripe, the nutrient-rich stomach lining of ruminants, is packed with good "stuff" for your dog. It provides beneficial bacteria and digestive enzymes which help support a healthy gut and is a good source of protein, vitamins, and minerals, including omega -3 and omega-6 fatty acids. We offer green tripe canned, frozen and as a treat. Warning- it is "fragrant" but dogs love it! This product is sometimes used as an appetite stimulant for picky eaters and pets who have lost their appetite due to illness.

As Pet Dental Health Month draws to an end, we send a last reminder that, unlike dogs and cats, the teeth of some small animals, such as hamsters, rabbits and guinea pigs, continue to grow. Chewing and gnawing are the natural way these critters trim their teeth. If they are not given the opportunity to wear down their their, they can develop dental deformities that can hinder their ability to eat. Always provide something acceptable for your little furry one to chew.

February is designated Pet Dental Health Month to remind pet parents that clean, healthy teeth are essential to your pet's overall health. If the thought of brushing your pet's teeth is daunting, there are several types of dental products available that can help you meet your pet's dental hygiene needs. Products include supplements, gels and foams, water additives and dental treats. Choose whichever method works best for you and your pet, but remember to use products on a consistent basis. Serious oral problems such as broken teeth and periodontal disease require attention from a veterinarian.

Bill sends a reminder to get a license for your dog. In order to obtain a license, proof is required that the dog has had a rabies vaccination. This not only helps to keep your dog safe but may also inform others that your pet is "safe" to approach in case he/she happens to wander away from home. A license informs folks that your dog has a home and provides a quick way to trace your pet back to you. Besides, it's the law in most communities!

Today is the beginning of the Year of the Snake. While snakes are known to shed their skins, this year is an opportunity for positive transformation if people are willing to shed their past, their anger, their ego. etc. and move forward into new beginnings.
If all the attention to snakes has created an interest in having a snake as a pet, as with all pet ownership, please be sure to research the pros and cons of a snake. Snakes do require care and, for a variety of reasons, are not a good pet for everyone.

Congratulations to employees Robin and Harry who married each other for the second time today at Bill's! Sean was the ring bearer and Bill walked Robin down the aisle to music from the officiant's phone. Why get married at Bill's? Robin explained that it had been a suggestion and they liked the idea because they "love working at Bill's"!!! (Definitely the first wedding at Bill's). Best wishes for many happy and healthy years together.

It's colder than it has been for a while, and sure, your dog has fur, but does your dog really need a coat? If it's a short walk, probably not. However, if your dog shivers or shakes, its a good indication that your pup would benefit from a good quality sweater or coat. Certain short haired breeds, older dogs and pets that are not well may also be sensitive to the cold. Canine clothing helps trap body heat to make your dog more comfortable and let him enjoy his time outside.
