Velvet Vixen Homestead is a small farm in mid Michigan specializing in rare, heritage poultry and Silver Fox rabbits. The goal is healthy, happy animals and satisfied buyers.
Please read this policy fully before inquiring.
*By contacting us or purchasing, you agree to these terms.*
1. Inquiries & Availability
* Message via Facebook DM or email.
Please include: s*x, age, quantity and intended use (show, meat, pelt, or breeding).
This will facilitate a productive conversation to meet your needs.
* All animals will be placed with a buyer depending on their intended purpose. No FCFS.
* Youth under 18 must have a parent/guardian involved in the purchase.
2. Payment Terms
* Full payment is due before or at pickup.
* Accepted payments: cash or Venmo. Venmo is under "Links."
**A non-refundable reserve hold is required to reserve an animal once you have stated your intent to purchase.
3. Pickup
* Local pickup is in Lyons, MI at our home. No other meeting locations.
* A time and date will be set after confirming your intent to purchase. You are provided a 48 hour pickup grace period.
* If you need us to hold your animal for a later pickup after the 48 hour pickup grace period, there will be a fee incurred.
* Buyer must provide proper carriers/boxes with ventilation, bedding, and secure transport.
4. Health & Guarantees
* All animals are guaranteed healthy, free of obvious issues, and accurate s*xing at the time they leave our farm. We perform a health check with you at pickup.
* No guarantees after departure including future health, growth, fertility, show success, s*x or temperament. Live animals can be affected by stress, transport, environment, feed, care, or illness.
* We practice strict biosecurity, so animals will be brought to you at the driveway, porch, or gate. No one is allowed to walk the property.
5. Buyer Responsibilities
* Inspect animals thoroughly at pickup and accept them "as-is." Any concerns must be raised before leaving our property. You have the right to decline a purchase.
* Provide proper housing, nutrition, biosecurity (quarantine new arrivals 30 days), and veterinary care.
* You are responsible for complying with all local, state, and federal laws regarding animal ownership, transport, and zoning.
* Please note that productive communication is needed when selling animals for their benefit and yours. Ghosting on messenger or email (no responses) may potentially place you on a “DNS” list (do not sell). If you are not interested or want to think more, please say so!
6. Cancellations, Refunds & Returns
* Reserve holds are 100% non-refundable under any circumstances even if you feel “you did not know” something.
* No refunds, returns, or exchanges once animals leave the property.
* If you can no longer keep the animal and need rehoming, please contact us first. This sometimes happens and we are here to help.
* We reserve the right to hold back any animals on our farm, cancel, or refuse a sale to anyone for any reason.
7. Additional Notes
* Not all rabbits will be sold from litters.
* All animals are raised with love on our homestead.
