Who can attend: These classes are open to any dog owner who has attended enough previous training with myself, Chase or Julie from Contented Canines that they understand our concepts of how to train a dog. The #1 most important understanding is that dog food is the #1 teaching tool. Dogs must have good dog food motivation & work ethic to attend these classes. These classes are open to Level 1, 2, or 3 dogs. Each dog will work at its own level.
* If you are interested in these classes, but feel YOU need more training & info prior to attending please contact me (Kim) to set up a private lesson.

Dogfest Picnic & Run/Walk Fundraiser Oct. 10th 2026(rain date 10/11)

What is dogfest? For over 18 years we have been offering Dogfest at our farm. Dogfest is a time for all clients(past & present) to come out, relax & enjoy our farm. All friendly dogs are welcome to attend. You can walk our trails, let your dog run free & play in one of our large fenced areas or just sit in the shade & visit with other dog loving people.
This is a VERY casual event.
Dogfest picnic time 4pm - ? (leave any time you need). You do not need to be here at 4, just don't come before 4pm. We will eat around 5 - 5:30pm.

This is a potluck picnic. We provide the hamburgs and hotdogs(buns, ketchup, mustard, pickles, cheese). We provide plates, napkins & plastic utensils. You bring whatever food (Side or dessert) you want to share, a chair & your drink(alcoholic beverages are fine). Your dog is welcome to attend, but doesn't have to.

* This year I am planning a new aspect to this gathering. One big thing I miss from owning my dog business in the Quad Cities, Contented Canines, is our many fundraisers we did for local dog rescues & shelters. This year at our Dogfest picnic we will host a 5K(3.1 miles), 2 mile, & 1 mile fun run/walk with your dog(if you can) event. I encourage you to do it with your dog, if you can.

The fee to enter is $20 per person with all proceeds 100% being donated to K9 Kindness Dog Rescue. This gathering & event is open to all clients (present & past) & anyone you want to share this info with. I will not be "promoting" it on any other social media platforms. Sorry no prizes or t-shirts. Just the reward of knowing your $ is going to a good cause & recognition during the picnic.

The routes will wander throughout our pastures & timber with the 1 mile being the easiest, the 2 mile adding some elevation changes & the 5K(3.1 miles) being the most challenging with many of our steeper hills added in.

The fundraiser run/walk event: participants need to be here ready to start at 3:30pm. If you are concerned about getting sweaty before the picnic, we have bathroom facilities in our training barn where you can change/get cleaned up.

To sign up for the picnic email me: [email protected] *** DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL ***
- let me know how many people plan to attend & how many hamburgs/hotdogs

To sign up for the Run/Walk fundraiser email me: [email protected] *** DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL ***
- let me know how many people plan to do the event. You can choose which route/length you want to do the day of the event
- pay the $20/person fee the day of the event. I will accept cash or check made out to On The Farm
** If anyone wants to donate to this fund that will 100% go to K9 Kindness rescue, you can bring the $ to the picnic or mail it to me at:
Kim Lindquist 5513 N. 900th Ave. Lynn Center IL. Cash or check is fine. Make checks out to On The Farm.

On the Farm Dog Boarding and Training Dogfest Picnic 2026

For over 18 years we've had a "dogfest" potluck picnic here on our farm & even prior to that more were held at my previous house. This year I am planning a new aspect to this gathering.

One big thing I miss from owning my dog business in the Quad Cities, Contented Canines, is our many fundraisers we did for local dog rescues & shelters.

This year at our Dogfest picnic we will host a 5K, 2 mile, & 1 mile fun run/walk with your dog(if you can) event. I encourage you to do it with your dog, if you can. The fee to enter is $20 with all proceeds 100% being donated to K9 Kindness Dog Rescue.

This gathering & event is open to all clients (present & past) & anyone you want to share this info with. I will not be "promoting" it on any other social media platforms. Sorry no prizes or t-shirts. Just the reward of knowing your $ is going to a good cause & recognition during the picnic.

The routes will wonder throughout our pastures & timber with the 1 mile being the easiest, the 2 mile adding some elevation change & the 5K being the most challenging with many of our steeper hills added in.

My plan is to have it the same day as our usual potluck picnic. We will probably start the fundraiser run/walk event around 3:30 & then plan to eat around 5/5:30p. If you are concerned about getting sweaty before the picnic, we have bathroom facilities in our training barn where you can change/get cleaned up.

My question for you all is input on the date. I am thinking Sat. Oct. 3rd/ rain date the 4th or Sat. Oct. 10th/ rain date the 11th. PLEASE GIVE INPUT IF INTERESTED & WHICH DATE. Once the date is set I will start pre-registration for the fundraiser run/walk.
