Got to catch up with some long time friends the other day, a now not so baby Cash!

Seeing how Cash REALLY gets into his session made the visit even sweeter. This guy loves his red light t**h time 🥰

Performing a gentle hyoid release today! The hyoid apparatus is a group of small bones that connects the tongue, jaw, poll, throat, and even influences the neck and shoulders. If you're tight in the shoulder, check the hyoid!

Things that releasing the hyoid can improve:

• Improved jaw and poll mobility
• Reduced tension through the tongue and TMJ
• Better relaxation and softer contact in the bridle
• Easier swallowing and chewing
• Increased comfort for bending, flexion, and collection

Releases can look a little different with every horse. Some become sleepy, while others start licking and chewing as they process the release. Yawning is another common response, helping to stretch and release tension throughout the fascial system.

Paddy's releases always come with a silly face 😜

Ahh that's not where we left you Charles 🤔

But on a plus side at least now we know the drafts can in fact turn around in our straight stalls.

Charlie is so full of personality and we love his shenanigans because he's not destructive about it, just funny.

Godspeed Atlas 🌎

My deepest condolences to One Fine Equine and all who loved him.

I met him last year during a fall photoshoot for a friend, he was as sweet as he was large. I realized after that photoshoot that I had saved pictures years ago of him during a pleasure class because I was working with a large belgian and it gave me a goal to work towards with him. It was so cool to meet that same horse almost a decade later 🖤

What. A. Journey.

For a horse whose life has already held more change than most, Onyx continues to show us just how resilient she is.

Earlier this year, a tumor had to be removed from her leg, then a significant seroma developed afterward. She has been on stall rest since January, and for a young horse, that's a LONG time.

In March, her mom reached out to add PEMF therapy to Onyx's veterinary directed recovery plan, hoping to support circulation and her body's natural healing process while the area continued to drain, firm and heal.

So once a week, I've kept showing up.

And so has Onyx.

Week after week. Session after session. Month after month.

And the difference between Day 1 and today is incredible.

Now we're waiting for the vet to ultrasound that leg again, and we're crossing absolutely EVERYTHING that it confirms what we're hoping to hear: the fluid is gone.

What strikes me most, though, isn't even her leg.

It's her.

These FOM horses have already experienced more upheaval than any horse should have to navigate. Yet through months of confinement, veterinary care, bodywork and people constantly handling that leg, Onyx has been one of the sweetest and most willing patients I could ask for. She nickers as I wheel my caddy through the doorway, and sessions are filled with being groomed by her and playing with her rubber chicken.

Plenty of young horses would've been climbing the walls by now. Onyx just keeps taking everything in stride. Hopefully a very exciting return to work waiting just around the corner.

Keep those fingers crossed for Onyx's ultrasound 🤞

Endlessly blessed 🖤✨️

Horses are such a huge part of my life, so it makes me so happy to be able to help give them the relaxation they deserve. Seeing the licking and chewing happening upon seeing me come through the doorway, or for them to come running when they hear the cart rolling across the driveway gives me all the serotonin.

1 horse and rider yesterday, 7 today. Good luck to everyone attending tomorrow's show!
