Meet Huckleberry Finn! Or “Finn” to his friends- our gentle giant with a heart as big as he is. If you’ve been holding out for the kind of horse that gives peace of mind, no matter who’s in the saddle, look no further. Finn is that once-in-a-lifetime gelding you’ll feel lucky to own.

This 8 year old silver dapple Gypsy Vanner/Percheron cross stands a solid 15.3hh and is built like a tank—broad, balanced, and so easy on the eyes. He turns heads for sure, but it’s his calm, loving personality that will instantly win you over. Finn is the definition of steady and kind. He’s the type of horse that makes everyone- young, old, nervous, or confident; Feel safe the minute their foot hits the stirrup. He genuinely enjoys being around people, and he’s happiest when he’s with you- standing quiet for grooming, following you around the pasture or out on a one-on-one ride.

Finn has been our go-to for beginners, guests, and kids alike. He’s carried green riders with quiet confidence and never once lost his cool, even in sketchy situations or inconsistent terrain. From thick brush to open fields, water crossings to rocky ledges, he moves out with careful steps and doesn’t rush or balk. He leads, follows, rides out alone, or settles mid-pack without a fuss. He’s all heart, all the time. Dependable and patient.

He’s been ridden by our 8-year-old son in downtown traffic, around dogs, bicycles, and cars without a spook or misstep. Prior to coming to us, Finn had excellent handling and training. He spent a lot of his time on trails, attended clinics, given lessons and has had exposure to a variety of environments. He’s confident in new places, making him the kind of horse you can haul out to a new trail or place and know he’ll handle it well.

This is the horse I hand off without hesitation when someone says, “I haven’t ridden in years.” He’s the one I grab when I want a worry-free ride at the end of a long day. He’s carried precious cargo, our children and their cousins- and does it with care, patience, and a level of gentleness that you can’t teach.
Under saddle, Finn rides soft and willing. He responds beautifully to leg and seat cues, has a nice jog (for a big guy), an easy lope, and a big lovely stride if you ask . He picks up both leads, and is actually pretty athletic for a draft type! He has been ridden English and we’ve even asked him to hop over a few jumps for fun.

Finn stands quietly for the vet, farrier, bathing, tacking up- you name it. He’s polite on the ground, always easy to catch. He’s got that “been-there, done-that” attitude but still loves learning and aims to please.

If your checklist includes safe, sound, sweet, and stunning—you’ll want to meet Finn. He’s a true family horse, the kind you hang onto for the long haul. Whether you’re looking for a dependable trail mount, a confidence builder, or just a loyal equine companion, Finn fits the bill.

He sells 100% sound with a completed Pre-Purchase Exam from Todd County Animal Clinic (Dr. John Laster, DVM).

Taadaaa!! I finally worked up the nerve to try English again for the first time since I was like 8 or so.
I’ve had a goal to at least look decent enough to be able to show some of the versatility our horses offer. And Isaac Vick was definitely not going to ride english 😂😂
So here’s to learning new skills and being brave enough to look bad whilst doing it.
Also these pictures didn’t take themselves, 💁🏼‍♀️ speaking of new things, Isaac is slowly but surely learning to use my camera too! 😍♥️
And huge shoutout to GR for being the most patient buddy while I flopped around on his back. This guy has a heart of gold and a coat to match. (Bidding ends on Monday)

If you’ve been looking for a solid as they come, confidence-building partner with a heart of gold, look no further. Gold Rush is the horse everyone wishes they had in their barn, and what 98% of people NEED.
“SJS SHOWDOWN BOB” is his AQHA registered name, and he is honest, safe, sweet, and steady through and through.

This 6-year-old AQHA palomino gelding stands 15hh and comes with all the right ingredients: A rock solid temperament, plenty of training and real life ranch experience, killer good looks and that kind nature we all look for in our unicorn. Whether you’re a beginner needing something trustworthy or an experienced rider who just wants to enjoy a relaxing, worry-free ride, Gold Rush is your guy.
His favorite speed? Slow and chill. He’s happy to go for a leisurely trail ride, explore new terrain, or work in the arena with quiet confidence. He doesn’t rush and doesn’t get flustered- even in hairy situations. He’s been used around cattle, has roping experience, and loads of trail miles under his belt. Traffic, dogs, wildlife, kids- he’s seen it all and handles everything with a calm, steady presence.
Gold Rush is very versatile. He’s been ridden English, goes quietly in the arena, and has even popped over a few jumps just for fun. With his willing attitude and cute moves, he could easily continue in that direction if someone wanted to take him further. But if you just want to hit the trail and ride something easy and enjoyable, he’ll never ask for more than you’re ready to give. He has also given lessons to new and nervous riders, and has helped more than one timid soul regain their confidence and fall in love with riding again. His calm energy and no-nonsense attitude allow people to feel safe, learn at their own pace, and simply enjoy the moment.
If safe is your speed, Gold Rush is who you need.
He rides out alone or in a group, front, back, or middle. He stands quietly to mount, rides off leg pressure, neck reins, and has a big stop and smooth gaits.
Gold Rush LOVES people. He meets you at the gate, follows you around like a golden retriever, and will stand for hours just to be brushed or loved on. He’s gentle for the kids, patient with beginners, and respectful on the ground. He loads, ties, bathes, stands for the vet and farrier, and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. 100% sound, and clean legged.
He’s just plain good. And in today’s world, that’s hard to find.

PPE scheduled with Todd County Equine Vet, 7/8/2025.

📞 Contact Rachel Vick at 931-623-1706 to learn more or set up a visit to meet Gold Rush in person.

Highlight Alert!!
If you’ve been searching high and low for a safe, gentle, and incredibly loving gelding you can trust with anyone in the family—your search ends here. Thunder is one of the kindest souls and sweetest horses we’ve ever had the pleasure of owning.

Meet Blue Thunder—a stunning 7-year-old AQHA registered bay roan gelding, (DG Hayes Superstar) standing 15.2hh. His looks turn heads everywhere he goes—he’s built right, with a classic Quarter Horse look, a kind eye, and big, solid bone—but it’s his heart that truly sets him apart. Thunder has a calm, affectionate nature and a level-headed personality that’s just plain rare. He genuinely prefers human company over other horses, and when I say he’ll be your very best friend—I mean it.

He’ll stand quietly for hours just to be brushed, petted, and pampered. He’ll drop his soft face into your lap and soak up every bit of love you have to give. He’s captured the hearts of everyone who’s met him, and for the entire year we’ve owned him, Thunder has been the very definition of “steady Eddie.”

He’s the kind of horse you can count on, every time. Whether it’s your first ride or your thousandth, Thunder gives you peace of mind the moment you swing a leg over.

This sweet boy is the ultimate trail partner. He’ll go wherever you point him—through creeks, up and down hills, over logs, or across rough terrain—always quiet, always willing. He doesn’t get worked up, doesn’t rush, and never gives you a reason to doubt him. He rides anywhere in the group and keeps the same steady pace—unless you ask otherwise.

Thunder has carried me for over 50 miles of trail riding—with our youngest son riding along in a baby carrier when he was just 8 months old. That’s how much I trust him—he carried my most precious cargo with care and confidence through every step. We’ve ridden all over the Buffalo River Trail system, camped overnight, and spent days exploring Land Between the Lakes. Cars, foot traffic, other horses, wildlife—nothing rattles him. Before we owned him, he was no stranger to a hard days work, working the ranch, moving cattle or branding, gathering strays, as well as used for a pickup horse under the bright lights alongside bucking stock.
He also served in a mounted search party, where he bravely rode through very treacherous terrain and woods so thick, you couldn’t see in front of you.
His sweet and affectionate personality is one of his best qualities. He follows you around like a giant puppy, hoping for more attention. He stands like a gentleman for grooming, bathing, tacking, the vet, and the farrier. He’s never pushy or mean—he truly has a heart of gold.

Thunder rides off leg pressure and even knows how to walk to the mounting block when you lift your hand. His gaits are smooth as glass—you can carry a full cup of water while trotting and not spill a drop. He has a floaty, comfortable lope, a big stop, and picks up both leads with ease.

He’s perfect for anyone who just wants a safe, sane, and steady partner. Thunder doesn’t need daily riding to stay gentle—he’s the same horse after a month off, or more.

If you’re searching for a loyal partner and a true best friend, Thunder is that horse.
He’s the kind of horse you’ll be grateful to call your own for years to come.

Thunder sells 100% sound with a clean bill of health and a completed Pre-Purchase Exam from Todd County Animal Clinic (Dr. John Laster, DVM).

Everyone always asks where to find the safest, tried and true kid confidence booster horses, and while it is hard to find them- it’s not entirely impossible!
*drumroll*
Your search is over! Honey is the barn’s babysitter, the one we pull out for timid or cautious riders who need to realize that riding can actually be so much fun when you are paired with the right horse. She is so sweet and patient.
The perfect age of 11; plenty young, but old enough to be settled and sane.
Standing 14hh, She is a really great height for kids or adults, and she is built thick and sturdy, with gorgeous feathers, long flowing mane and a very thick tail!
Honey has excellent ground manners, great in the stall or easy to catch out in the big pasture. She will drop her head into your halter and happily follow wherever you lead. She stands patiently while everyone grooms and tacks her up, for the farrier or bathing and braiding. Being pampered is her favorite, and she enjoys all of the little kids petting her neck and planting kisses on her nose.
One of my favorite things about Honey, is how user friendly and easy to ride she is! Limited experience? No problem! You aren’t going to accidentally cue her into the wrong thing. She’s so steady and easy going, you can just relax and enjoy the ride.
Honey has carried all manner of kids safely up steep rocky banks, over fallen trees, through the slick muddy areas, down the narrow little goat trails weaving around the bluffs, through the river, and even into the thicker brushy areas. Honey just picks her way along carefully, and totes our most precious cargo like the trail veteran she is.
Honey is sure footed and seasoned, and she will go at the front, bringing up the rear or anywhere in the middle of a group. We consider her to be more whoa than go, she prefers to walk, but she will pick up and move at a faster pace if you ask her.
The world needs more “unflappable” horses, the ones you can put your sisters boyfriends cousins grandma on, and not have to worry about spooking or running off, and that’s our Honey.
She has been ridden on trails by kids ranging from 5 and up. Even big adult kids!Lol! She doesn’t mind traffic, dogs or flags, other farm animals, tarps or really anything else that we’ve come across. She’s pushed cattle around and stands patiently while the kids goof around and fake falling off. She looks like a mother hen, waiting for her chicks to regroup. I can’t say enough good about this mare, and I know that whoever buys her will be very happy with their investment. She is the definition of a steady Eddie, and you can not find these horses just anywhere. During the summer she was caught countless times by the kids, completely unassisted- and they just hop on ba****ck and ride around the farm solo. The peace of mind that comes with having a dependable, trustworthy horse like her around, is priceless.
Honey will make the perfect addition to your family. Clean legged, sound, no vices or bad habits and sells 100% in every way.

Honey had a Pre Purchase Exam completed on 1-29-25, by Equine Vet, John Laster DVM, at Todd County Animal Clinic. Passed with flying colors!

Fergus rides and drives, he is super quiet and gentle, slow and easy. His favorite thing is just quietly plodding down a trail, or standing and being groomed and pampered all day. He adores attention and human friends!
He would best suit intermediate riders and up- we’ve taken beginners out on him with supervision, but he can sometimes be lazy and try to get out of work- so no beginners or non horse people.
He has the biggest personality and is loads of fun and someone will enjoy him so much!! We have owned him for the past year, and can tell you all about him ♥️ we want the right fit for him and his new rider- and would love to chat if you are interested!
