After all the incredible love and support shown for Tonto, we’d love to invite you back to meet the many other amazing dogs and cats waiting right here at the Robeson County Humane Society.

Every animal here has a story, a heart full of love, and a dream of finding a forever family. We encourage you to look beyond the breed and see the wonderful companion waiting to change your life. Sometimes your perfect best friend is the one you least expect.

🐶 Not ready to adopt? That’s okay! Your time is just as valuable. Volunteering helps socialize, comfort, and rehabilitate our animals while they wait for their forever homes. A walk, a cuddle, or even a few minutes of play can make a world of difference.

🏡 We’re open today from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and we’d love to welcome both familiar faces and first-time visitors.

Come spend some time with our furry friends—you might leave with a new best friend, or simply make one very happy today. We can’t wait to see you! ❤️🐾

🎉🐾 The moment you’ve all been waiting for… TONTO HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN ADOPTED! 🐾🎉

We are beyond excited to announce that Tonto has found his forever home! ❤️ Thank you to everyone who took the time to visit him, submit an application, and show him so much love.

To those whose applications were not selected, please know this: you all submitted wonderful, adoptable applications. If we could have chosen every one of you, we truly would have. The decision was incredibly difficult because there were so many amazing families interested in giving Tonto a loving home.

We sincerely hope there are no hard feelings. Your compassion and willingness to open your hearts to a shelter pet means more to us than words can express. 💕

Please continue following us and keep an eye on all of our wonderful dogs and cats who are still waiting for their own happy ending. Your perfect match may be here, patiently waiting for you.

We have received so many wonderful applications, and we want to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to visit and apply for this special boy.

Our team will now carefully review each application to find the very best match for Tonto and the forever home he truly deserves.

Due to appointment cancellations and some selected applicants not paying their copays, we still have a limited number of spay/neuter vouchers available for Lee and Robeson County residents!

Appointments must be scheduled during the month of August.

If selected, you'll pay just:
🐶 $50 copay for dogs
🐱 $25 copay for cats

Spaying and neutering helps prevent unwanted litters, improves your pet's health, and makes a positive impact on our community.
