Introducing Mo! He is a young little chihuahua mix, approximately 1 year old. He was found running around, and no owner claimed him. He is a sweet, spunky guy who deserves a wonderful home! He does well in his crate, and is house trained. He has the softest fur ever and a cute curly tail!

CAUTION: He is a little escape artist, and has gotten out of the backyard once by digging under the fence. It doesn’t mean he’s not happy - he just seems to enjoy it, but of course he needs to stay safe with his family! He will need supervision during potty/outside time.

He loves other dogs and loves to play. He has not been around cats yet. He also hasn’t been around children, but would likely do well and enjoy the (supervised) attention. He would love to meet you!

Hola! It’s me, Chica! I am a chihuahua mix girl born around 1/6/2025. My short little life has been full of mishaps and changes… landing me at a local shelter after my owner could no longer take care of me. The good people at the SPSPCA took me in, but unfortunately I was super sick with Parvo when I came into the rescue. After a few days in the hospital I was healthy enough to go back to my foster where I have gotten healthier and gained a little weight to a whopping 4 pounds 8 ounces! Like most chihuahuas (although I look more like a chi-weenie) I think I’m big stuff and will often growl at other dogs. But once I get to know them I like to cuddle and play with them. I love the children in my foster home and would do great with more children. I don’t sleep in my crate, I actually hate crates… but find that king sized beds snuggled up to a human is more my liking. I’m doing well at being housebroken and have mastered the doggy door. My $175 adoption fee includes my vaccinations, spay, microchip and heartworm preventative. Hello future family! My name is HARPER. I am looking for my forever family, could that be you?? I am a terrier mix girl born approximately 3/21/2022. A little about me, I was found on a cold winter day running around looking for my next meal. I was very very skinny, matted and full of stickers to the point that I cried every time someone tried to touch me. I’m only telling you this so that you can have an idea of what I have survived to get where I’m at today . Then my life CHANGED! My foster mom picked me up and all the sudden there was food all the time, I was free from all the stickers and my life has been so good ever since! I know what love is and I have so much love to offer someone. I love to play now with other dogs and toys! I love toys ! Who knew? I am very active but the absolute best is sitting in your lap every chance I get. I don’t care what you are doing, I just want to be with you! You see, I’m kinda scared about my past so I want to be with you all the time but my foster mom promised me she would make sure she found the best family for me and I would never live like I had to before ever again. I am kenneled trained but I still have a few accidents in the house if you’re not watching. Meet Goldie AKA Golden Nugget. We don’t know her story except when we got her she came with 4 puppies. Goldie was born around 3/1/2023 and is a chihuahua mix weighing 11 pounds.

Goldie was scared of everyone and everything when she entered foster care but she has grown in leaps and bounds. She gets along well with big and small dogs and even cats. She enjoys snuggling up on the couch to watch TV or with her foster in bed. Being young she enjoys playing with toys and other animals, when she is running she gets very excited when you tell her how fast she is 💕

Introducing “Goldie’s Litter”.

We do not know their whole story but these babies were born 2/10/2025. Mom is a Chihuahua mix weighing 11 pounds and we do not know who dad is.

Smudge: is the only male and is the sweetest guy. He enjoys running around, untying your shoes, watching what you are doing, but most of all being held, belly rubs, and giving you kisses 🥰

Lollipop AKA Fireball 🙂 she is the bossy girl that likes having conversations with her fosters. She is full of energy and attitude. She enjoys being picked up to give you kisses but not for too long as she needs to go play with the other dogs. Her fun spirit will surly keep you smiling.

Gumdrop: she is more on the shy side but is beginning to have more confidence. She enjoys getting loves, being carried around and giving you kisses.

Goldie’s babies are available for our Foster to Adopt Program through the rescue. To qualify for this you must live in Lubbock County. If your application is approved, you will pay a $100 non-refundable deposit to take him/her home. They must be brought back to the rescue for all scheduled vaccinations (you will be given a schedule) and also take them to the scheduled spay/neuter which will be scheduled by rescue. Once the puppy is fully vetted we finalize the adoption and at that time you pay the remaining $100 of the adoption fee. They are not fully vetted so they cannot be taken to parks, on walks, or even Petsmart until they have all their vaccines unless carried the entire time and not letting their feet touch the ground. The foster mom has worked hard to keep them safe and well and the rescue trust the adoptive family to continue keeping them safe. Please email

Introducing... Woodstock!! He is finally ready for his new home. He was born on March 1, 2024 and is just about as cute as can be. He has tons of energy and is a fun and exciting puppy. He is still learning to potty outside and is doing well. He does well in a kennel and sleeps in a kennel alone at night. Woodstock is a very shy boy who also loves to play and have fun and is learning that cuddles aren't so bad. He loves to play with dogs his size and possibly will need one to help him adjust to his new home. Please no large rambunctious dogs in the home as it scares him and he will hide.

Hi y’all!! My name is Wanda. I am a plot-hound mix born around 6/1/2019. You might laugh at my name but it sure does fit me, or if when you hear the name Wanda and think of a wild southern woman, then yes it fits me! You might remember me from June. I was posted for help because I was found very very sick and super skinny in the middle of nowhere on an extremely hot day. Let’s just say I was lucky to be where I was at that time because I wouldn’t have made it much longer. Overall, I ended up with hook worms, whip worms, very anemic, and heart worms along with burns on the bottom of my feet. I finally am to the point where I’m healthy!! Now, a little about me and my personality…after I’ve gotten to feeling better, let’s just say that personality did come out! My foster mom said she’s going to be brutally honest because she only wants the best family that is right for me because she loves me sooooo much!! I’m a bit of a wild woman. I think I have some hunting dog in me so if I see a squirrel, or a cat I’m gone. I will require a house with a very secure fence and preferably a tall one or I’ll be gone! See, I listen most of the time but if I see something I want, something comes over me and I don’t even know you’re there yelling at me trying to get my attention. I also will bark/yell at that dang squirrel to just come here, until I can calm myself down so don’t leave me outside or your neighbors will come knocking! I also can’t help myself but I will chew on anything laying around. Just put me up so I can’t be tempted, I swear it all calls my name to just give it a little chew! Those are the biggest things so now on to the good parts! You can’t help but look at me and love me. I have giant ears that flop around that my temp mom loves, she says they’re even cuter when I’m tilting my head around. I love to cuddle on her and she laughs because even cuddling, I can’t be still. When I jump on her lap, I jump with all 4 feet at the same time, working on my high jump if there’s ever doggie Olympics! I LOOOOVE playing with my fur friends so I absolutely need at least one other friend to play with that will run around with me and wrestle! I will run around the yard all day long with them and take turns chasing and then also move it into the house too! I do also love my sleep so in to a tiny Wanda ball I go when napping!! My foster mom will be there at adoptions so she can answer any questions about me you might have. She says, don’t let this discourage you from adopting me. She’s just ironing it all out from the beginning so you don’t have to learn it all on your own! I truly am the best!! Here are some before and after pictures of me! Tunde is crate trained / pet carrier trained, indoor cat who knows how to use the litter box well. She loves to use the cat scratcher. She enjoys being brushed and having her ears rubbed.
Tunde is learning to fluff her tail while she walks around. She will show affection by rubbing your legs while following you throughout the house. She enjoys hugs, cuddles, playing with her brothers and she sleeping with her favorite leopard print blanket.
Tunde has been around people who talk to her, so she has learned to have conversations with humans and has been raised around other cats in the house.

Theodore is a very loving boy who takes care of his siblings by cleaning their faces, hugging them and cuddling with them. Theo is very smart and curious about things, will sit and watch what people are doing; can be a little shy and will need some extra time to adjust to his new surroundings.

Teger eats wet food and dry food. He is a crate trained / pet carrier trained, indoor cat who knows how to use the litter box, loves to use cat scratcher. He enjoys being brushed and having his ears rubbed.
Tegger loves to play with his siblings and toys, enjoys hugs and cuddles. He likes sleeping with his favorite blanket; this little guy has a habit of wrapping himself up in his blanket so just look for the bump in the blanket. Tegger is very timid and will need some extra time to adjust to his new surroundings.

Have you met Sunshine, or Sunni for short???
Although she has had a rough start after being attacked by dogs in her home, with a few scars to prove it, she is a loving and sweet puppy born approx 2/8/2024! She's been eager to learn basic commands, is food motivated, and sleeping nights in her kennel. Like alot of Cowdog mixes, she shows her love with heavy leans, little nips, and after a great game fetch, will crash laying across your feet. She is learning daily and will need someone who will work with her to continue learning commands and how to be a good girl!
