GOODBYE BERGER…FOREVER IN MY HEART ❤️
I want share with you and honor and remember a remarkable soul who left us Wednesday, my dear boy Radenberger — or “Berger,” as we affectionately called him. Berger was more than just a horse; he was a symbol of strength and resilience. Stoic and strong, he fought so hard to keep going. Even in his final days, he held on with all his might, his spirit unbroken until the very end.
Yesterday morning, as the sun was just beginning to rise, Berger decided it was time to rest. In those quiet moments, he gently laid himself down in the shavings, bowed his head, and left this world on his own terms. I truly believe he did this for me, knowing it would be too hard for me to say goodbye in any other way. That was the depth of our connection — a bond built on mutual trust, love, and understanding.
Berger and I shared something unique, something beyond words. He trusted me with his whole heart, and I trusted him with mine. He was more than just a horse to me; he was my partner, my confidant, my friend. I loved him in a way that I have never loved another, and I know in my heart that he loved me back just as fiercely. Berger was more than just a companion; he was the heart of the barn, our beloved “mayor,” always ready to greet everyone with a spark of joy. In many ways, he was a clown, always finding a way to bring a smile to our faces. But he was also beautiful, elegant, and a mover of grace and power. There was a majesty to his stride, a dance in every step. As strong and powerful as he was, he always took care of me, guiding me through each ride with a gentle wisdom that only he possessed.
I will miss Berger more than words can ever convey. His presence was a light in my life, and the barn feels emptier without him. But I find solace in knowing that he is at peace, free of pain, and that he left this world on his own terms, with dignity and grace. Rest in peace, my sweet Berger. You were loved beyond measure, and you will be missed more than you can know. Thank you for being my partner, my teacher, and my friend. Until we meet
