Making snoots!

I've been hard at work making some replacement noses which I hope to add to the shop here in the next month or so. We will offer all of our noses in semi-transparent pink (paintable) or warm black. Here's a lineup of the noses we plan to offer...

Just wanted to let you all know that we will be away from the shop next week. Our shops (Etsy and Shopify) will remain open while we are away, but orders will not ship until the first week of June. We will answer any emails or messages received during that period once we return on June 1st.

A lot of taxidermy is just trusting the process. I feel like most mounts look kind of like a hot mess until the very end. 😅 I was really excited to finally put the small bobcat form I sculpted to good use as well as some new wide pupil glass eyes!

Big puppy in progress. Full armature with a pair of our natural timber wolf glass eyes.

It feels like forever since I've gotten to work on some wolves, so I'm very excited to not only get to work on this beautiful girl, but a few others for customers as well!

We still have a wolf pelt available for commission and one more spot!

This older photo of a fully posable cross fox I made for a customer a few years ago popped up yesterday. It's weird looking back at old work, especially when it somehow both seems like yesterday and forever ago.

A lot has changed since then. I've adapted my techniques, learned new skills, and grown so much!

If you follow my work and have just started your own taxidermy journey, keep at it! Keep pushing yourself, keep learning, and most of all try to compare yourself not to others, but to where you used to be. Give yourself the compassion and grace to learn from your mistakes and not let a need to be perfect paralyze you.
