Summer always seems to arrive with a little extra brightness.
Longer days, warm evenings, garden vegetables, juicy fruits, and that unmistakable feeling that everyone — including our dogs — become more active, explore, and fully embrace the season.
In holistic seasonal care, summer is considered the most yang time of the year: active, bright, warm, outward, and full of energy. But when yang is at its peak, we also need to gently support yin — the cooling, calming, nourishing side that helps the body stay balanced.
At TRIM, this is how we think about summer food and wellness for dogs: joyful and colorful, but also hydrating, grounding, and seasonally supportive.
This season, we are excited to share new summer offerings, a special TRIM booklet, wellness events, competition news, and more.
Now Available: TRIM Dog Food & Treats Booklet
We created this booklet because we wanted to share the heart behind TRIM’s food.
Our seasonal Bentos and daily meals, treats, and small-batch items are not made simply to be “cute” or “special.” They come from years of learning, cooking, observing dogs, and continuing to study Japanese Pet Yakuzen, seasonal eating, and holistic food care.
This booklet introduces the way we think about food at TRIM — why we choose certain ingredients, how we look at the seasons, and how food can gently support a dog’s everyday well-being.
It is also a small way for us to thank our customers for believing in this part of TRIM.
The booklet is available in-store for $10. It also makes a thoughtful little gift for a dog-loving friend or family member, pet professional, or anyone curious about TRIM’s food philosophy.
Yakuzen is also a method used for humans, so you may find inspiration for your own wellness too — let’s stay healthy together with your pup.
TRIM’s Summer Dog Bento: “Mediterranean Breeze”
Our summer bento, Mediterranean Breeze, was created with the colors, warmth, and freshness of the season in mind.
This vibrant seasonal meal includes:
Lamb & Tofu Shish Kebab with Grilled Summer VegetablesHummus & Greek Salad Pasta
Summer Veggie Jewel Cup
Watermelon Nanny Goat Ice Cream
Each ingredient was chosen with a seasonal purpose.
Red and colorful ingredients such as tomato, shrimp, and red bell pepper connect beautifully with summer’s fire element and heart energy in Five Element theory. Cooling ingredients such as watermelon, cucumber, and summer squash help bring refreshment during warmer days. Nourishing proteins and grounding ingredients such as lamb, tofu, garbanzo beans, and yam bring balance and satisfaction.
The result is a bright, joyful summer meal designed to feel festive, refreshing, and deeply nourishing.
Special Summer Packaging
This season’s bento packaging was designed by our talented friend and U.S.-based artist, Kiyomi.
Inspired by Mediterranean tile patterns, summer colors, and playful dog silhouettes hidden throughout the design, the packaging brings a cheerful, breezy feeling to the meal. It feels like a little summer postcard — colorful, warm, and full of movement.

A Golden Moment at CaliGroom Central 2026
Kotone and Mugi placed 1st in Freestyle at CaliGroom Central 2026 — a proud and joyful moment for all of us at TRIM!!
Kotone created a beautifully balanced and expressive style for Mugi, showcasing both creativity and precision, while Mugi calmly and gracefully supported her as a model dog.
We also want to celebrate Mayu and Teru, who showed a soft and charming style together and continued to grow as a competition team.
At TRIM, we choose to work with our clients’ beloved dogs rather than perfect show dogs, because we value building real relationships and honoring each dog’s individuality.
Congratulations again to Kotone and Mugi, and thank you to Mayu and Teru for representing TRIM so beautifully.
Furikake & Mini Treats: A Little Fish, A Lot of Goodness
Many dogs regularly enjoy meat-based treats, but fish can be a wonderful way to add variety and nutritional balance to their diet.
Our freeze-dried minnow furikake and mini treats are made with small river fish, which are naturally lower in salt than many ocean fish. They are rich in flavor, light in texture, and loved by both dogs and cats.
We currently offer three minnow furikake varieties, along with two kinds of mini treats that are easy to sprinkle, share, or bring along on the go.
They are perfect for:
Adding variety to daily meals
Encouraging picky eaters
Bringing on walks or outings
Sharing as small gifts or party favors
Cats who love fishy flavors, too.
Our furikake and mini treats are available at TRIM, and select items are also carried at Olive Tree Animal Hospital (https://olivetreevet.com/) in Pleasanton and Aedan Koji Kitchen (https://www.aedansf.com/) in San Francisco. They are now also available through our Etsy shop. etsy.com/shop/TrimPetPantry
