Natalie was carrying her tiny puppy across a rain-soaked road when a speeding car struck her. The driver dragged her injured body to the roadside and left her there, with her frightened baby crying beside her.
She couldn’t stand. Only moments earlier, she had been carrying her puppy to safety, and now she lay helpless in the rain, unable to reach down and pick her up again.
People gathered around them. But instead of helping the injured mother, they pulled out their phones and started recording.

This tiny kitten’s umbilical cord was still attached when she was found alone on cold concrete, covered in dirt and fleas, with no mother beside her.
The newborn kitten weighed barely 100 grams. Her eyes were still closed, and her cries were so faint that someone could easily have walked past without hearing her.
She couldn’t get up and follow anyone. She could only lie there and cry.
When rescuers reached her, she was barely moving. They carefully lifted her into a warm towel, and she pressed her tiny body against it.
At the clinic, the team cleaned her gently and removed the fleas covering her skin. But getting her out of that yard was only the beginning.
She needed constant warmth, feeding every few hours and someone watching over her through the night.
Sometimes, she was too tired to drink.

For years, his world had ended wherever that chain pulled tight.
Marin had once lived with a family. But as he grew bigger, they decided they could no longer keep him and gave him to an elderly couple who didn’t know how to care for him.
