Three Opportunities to Help Animals Across San Bernardino County: $20 Adoptions, Free Cat Sterilization, and Rescue Fundraiser
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA β Animal lovers throughout San Bernardino County have three opportunities to make a difference over the coming days, including a discounted pet-adoption program ending Halloween, a free community-cat sterilization program in Hesperia, and a fundraising event supporting homeless animals in Chino Hills.
These programs offer residents ways to adopt a new companion, help reduce animal overpopulation, and support rescue organizations working to save lives.
$20 Pet Adoptions End Saturday, October 31
The City of Hesperia Animal Shelter is offering $20 dog and cat adoptions through Saturday, October 31, 2026, in recognition of National Animal Safety and Protection Month.
Regular adoption fees are $80 for dogs and $50 for cats, making this a significant opportunity for families considering bringing a new pet into their homes.
An additional $40 spay/neuter deposit applies to animals that have not yet been sterilized.
The shelter is located at 11011 Santa Fe Avenue East in Hesperia and is open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adoption kennels close 15 minutes before the shelter closes.
Prospective adopters can visit the shelter, meet available animals, and complete the regular adoption process.

Free Community-Cat Spay/Neuter Program in Hesperia
Hesperia Animal Services has also relaunched its free Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return program to help reduce the number of unwanted litters and improve the health of community cats.
The program provides free sterilization surgery for qualifying stray and feral cats, along with rabies vaccination, additional feline vaccination, flea treatment, pain management, and ear-tipping to identify sterilized cats.
The next scheduled surgery dates are November 4 and November 18, 2026, although the cityβs current schedule lists both dates as full.
The program is available exclusively to Hesperia residents caring for community cats within the city. Participation is limited to two cats per household, with one cat per humane trap.
Residents are responsible for safely trapping the cats, transporting them to their appointments, and providing appropriate postoperative care before returning them to their outdoor territory.
There is no charge for the surgeries. Humane traps may be rented for $12 per week, subject to availability.
Hesperia Animal Services expects to open registration for additional December dates on November 24.

Quartermania Fundraiser to Benefit Priceless Pet Rescue β November 1
Animal lovers can also enjoy an afternoon of fun while supporting homeless dogs and cats at the Quartermania Fundraiser, taking place Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Priceless Pets Ranch & Learning Center in Chino Hills.
The event features quarter bidding on gift baskets, shopping, and opportunities to support the rescue organizationβs lifesaving programs.
Doors open at 12:30 p.m., with bidding beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Admission is $20 per player, and lunch will be available for purchase.
All proceeds benefit Priceless Pet Rescue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless animals and placing them into loving homes.
