Tulla fka Sunshine is enjoying her new life! From being given away to a horrible family that is known for abusing and neglecting their animals, to living a charmed life with her new mom! Tulla was living in a front yard, no shelter, no clean water, no attention. Their dog before that “got out” and they didn’t bother to look for him, they just magically had a new puppy a couple of days later. Thankfully a neighbor negotiated her freedom so she could have a better life. She was tiny, skinny, dirty, sad and loaded with fleas. Puppies- the adoption fee never covers a fraction of the costs involved. Initial exam, vaccines, f***l, deworming, microchip, follow-up vaccines, retest f***l, flea treatment, spay/neuter when old enough. And that’s just the basics. Some are injured, have skin or ear infections, eye infections or dental issues.
This is rescue. 💪♥️🐾

Maury is 8 weeks old, 2lbs and VERY LUCKY! He was liberated from a drug addict that had him stuffed in a cart in the rain. He was soaking wet, freezing and infested with fleas. Thank you Adriana Martinez for taking him in and fostering him. Our vet said he’s fine, aside from being a bit under weight and some parasites that he’s being treated for.

First clip is what was sent to us yesterday. This was preventable so it really made me angry. People need to do better. This morning Irene G. drove from Santa Monica to Moorpark then up to Ventura County to get him to us. He’s going to be okay but he needs some time to recover mentally and physically.
We have more rosters than we do hens. Roosters get dumped as soon as they realize they are not hens, the hens usually get dumped after they stop “producing.” The whole thing just sucks. We’re grateful that we can help so many unwanted, discarded, abandoned birds. They didn’t do anything to deserve being dumped.

Remember the cat that was dumped on Larchmont in a carrier in front of BofA? She scored a fantastic home with one of our past adopters… Lara and she’s thriving and basically running the house.
We’re grateful that her story has a happy ending and she will never be abandoned again.
No, she never had to go to a scary, crowded shelter. She went home with us, then to the vet, then a stray hold then a forever home. This is how we do things…We put the animal first, we take the approach that’s best for the animal’s mental and physical health. We don’t get those dramatic moments of opening a shelter cage and a freedom ride but we get this…a happy cat that’s settled into her new life.

It’s going to be a paradise for the animals. Please donate to help us purchase this 28acre mountainside lot to help more animals. The current rescue ranch is 2min away and this new location is over 5x the size with MANY trees and hills which make it so tranquil.
We’re trying to raise $335,000 (we’ve raised $48,219 so far). $300,000 is the purchase price, $35,000 is towards immediate repairs, cleaning, clearing and leasing this space while we fundraise. The deadline is quickly approaching. We have until the end of the year.
Any amount helps. And sharing is important.
Casey & Annie are a package deal with the property and they are thriving with the attention and care we are giving them. We plan to help many more animals with this space.

Adopt Hank. Under 2yo, 25lbs, pug/terrier mix. Neutered, vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and ready for his forever home.
He was rescued from a miserable life in a filthy backyard with 7 other intact dogs. All are safe now and we’re helping them get seen a few at a time.
Hank is good with other dogs. He would also be fine as any only pet. Fine with cats too.
He’s crate trained and working on house training.
He’s not on the website yet but if you’re interested, there’s only one Hank so we’ll know who you are referring to.
