After all the waiting, watching, sleepless nights, and wondering when the moment would finally come… today was the day.
Around 2:00 this afternoon, Poppy began welcoming her babies into the world.
And now, four tiny little lives are curled up beside their mama, exactly where they belong.
No matter how many times I experience this, this part never becomes ordinary.
Watching a mama you love bring new life into the world… hearing those first tiny cries, watching them search for Mama, and seeing Poppy instinctively know exactly what her babies need—it gets me every single time.
For weeks, they were little heartbeats we waited for.
Today, they became little faces, little paws, and four brand-new lives we get the privilege of loving from their very first breath.
Poppy did amazing.
Tonight, the house is a little fuller, my heart is a LOT fuller, and four tiny German Shepherd babies are tucked safely against their mama.
Welcome to the world, little ones.
