This little frenchie girl was saved from the Shelter as a Valentine's Special ❤️.
As we were searching for a foster, she contracted severe URI, which is unfortunately expected if a dog has never entered a public shelter system or their immune system has been weakened or disrupted by another illness. This was the case with Dahliah. She had been brought in and treated for bloat, recovered, but contracted respiratory infection during her recovery. She still needed additional surgery, so at that point it was urgent we find a foster partner.
Yes- Miracles actually DO happen... ✨️
An incredible Foster Family came forward and we've been working together towards 💯 success.
Little girl had us frightened because she had stopped eating and needed to be on IV fluids in an urgent care setting for a period of time.
Now that one area of her little body has been treated and healed, she will be going back again for follow up. Our surgeon had the fascinating opportunity to see that something had been moved or twisted so it could have easily interfered with the function of her heart, it was much too close to the valve, and that was all corrected by our doctor. Yes- she had the opportunity to see her beating heart!!! 💓 Incredible! We are still waiting for terminology in medical terms to share. It's the main reason for our delayed update. We still have not received full report, since we are still doing treatments.
She got stronger by the day, thanks to our surgeon, and foster partner, and little girl is scheduled for a follow up on her hernia.
We will keep you informed. 🐷
Meantime, we are sharing her pics and will share some videos of how amazing she's doing.
Feel free to donate to little Underdog Lucky Dahliah if you are able.
