We focus on the Giants, both big and small, whose hearts are much Larger than their Heads. Our mission, and our passion, is to leave an everlasting impression of on the , both Animal and Human. We are proud to know we've made a HUGE positive difference in not only thousands of unwanted animals' lives, but we've made an equally Large difference in the adopters' lives by bringing them the companion animal who completes their empty void, and who joyfully Heals their Hearts. The name "HUG Hearts":
As a seasoned Animal Rescuer whose heart goes out to the Underdog, one of our Recipes for their success is Rehab/Training. It was the annual memorial of my mom's death during one of our training sessions: My mom was killed in a car accident when I was 3, after choosing to turn the wheel to miss an animal, which caused the vehicle to spin out of control down an embankment on the back country roads. She risked her life to save an animal. During that sunset drive with my who had been damaged by electrocution, the name HUGHearts came into mind. His head was Huge, his Heart was Much Bigger, and he loved HUGs. My mom's middle name is Hart coincidentally, pronounced "Heart," may she RIP with the animals.

This little frenchie girl was saved from the Shelter as a Valentine's Special ❤️.

As we were searching for a foster, she contracted severe URI, which is unfortunately expected if a dog has never entered a public shelter system or their immune system has been weakened or disrupted by another illness. This was the case with Dahliah. She had been brought in and treated for bloat, recovered, but contracted respiratory infection during her recovery. She still needed additional surgery, so at that point it was urgent we find a foster partner.

Yes- Miracles actually DO happen... ✨️

An incredible Foster Family came forward and we've been working together towards 💯 success.

Little girl had us frightened because she had stopped eating and needed to be on IV fluids in an urgent care setting for a period of time.

Now that one area of her little body has been treated and healed, she will be going back again for follow up. Our surgeon had the fascinating opportunity to see that something had been moved or twisted so it could have easily interfered with the function of her heart, it was much too close to the valve, and that was all corrected by our doctor. Yes- she had the opportunity to see her beating heart!!! 💓 Incredible! We are still waiting for terminology in medical terms to share. It's the main reason for our delayed update. We still have not received full report, since we are still doing treatments.

She got stronger by the day, thanks to our surgeon, and foster partner, and little girl is scheduled for a follow up on her hernia.

We will keep you informed. 🐷

Meantime, we are sharing her pics and will share some videos of how amazing she's doing.

Feel free to donate to little Underdog Lucky Dahliah if you are able.

He is one of the first we fell in love with out of the pack of we rescued, and he was the one we had the privilege of holding on to the longest. 🤗

Chad our little lioncub, he stole our hearts, and it took the entire weekend to recover lol 😉 It was another beautiful Adoption 💝

He will be close to us, but far away from his former abuser, who we are praying stays locked up for good this time.

There was no denying a meetup after the phone interview and reading his Adopter's application. It all fell into place--- he was authentic when we met up, and he had tears in his eyes when he gave Chad his first teddy bear hug. 🧸

There is no denying
Followthrough...

Chad has his official certified letter and is already registered in service dog training at a reputable institution.

From living with a human Monster to now being one of the most integral parts of someone else's Life.

Thank you for the opportunity and privilege to Rescue and Rehabilitate him.

Things were scarey for our little angel Lulu at first, after she had gone through so much trauma, pain, and emotion from the offleash dog attack in her former home. Her eye was injured, impaired vision, but her eye was treated without surgery and salvaged 🙏
One thing, in our opinion, which helped "lessen" dogs running in her Direction if their humans are ignorant enough to have them offleash in common public places, is to provide spay surgery for Lulu, eliminating/decreasing certain scents and hormones. She gained confidence around other dogs, and never once came close to being confronted in any dangerous situations while in our rescue abode. Instead, she began loving other dogs. 💝🐶

We showed her what was, and we prayed every day we would find that special family who could carry that love over onto her For Life. 💫

We feel we made the right choice 😊

Only 7 minutes away.

We will always Love little Lulu ♥️

Now 🥳

We had a serious request from a compassionate family who has a 2yr old child wanting a best friend animal companion like our Georgie boy .

We always test our dogs for their new environment, so we thought we'd go back in time and pretend to be 2yrs old. 😉

We touched his tail, and gently patted parts of his body, resulting in zero negative reaction. 🎈
As a child, as far as we know, we DID NOT use our dogs as horses, but we have no idea what kids do these days.

We thought we'd gently put George to the test and find a different way to give him a big - from behind- since he deserves a Hug each and every day. 🤗

He Passed our Test with Flying Colors 🎉🏆

Such a resilient, loving teddy bear who welcomes affection any way he can get it 🧡🩷
