The Rescue Train The Rescue Train’s deep-rooted goals are to be a voice for animals and to help save as many lives as possible.

The Rescue Train is a unique, non-profit 501(c)(3) no-kill organization dedicated to eliminating animal suffering and euthanasia through hands-on rescue work, education and awareness. We fulfill our mission through our key initiatives: rescue and rehome, shelter intervention, dedication to spay and neuter, and collaboration with other like-minded organizations. We aim to drastically reduce the num

ber of animals entering kill shelters and animals living on the streets of Los Angeles. Many of our life-saving programs help lay a foundation of lasting change through community outreach and celebrate the human-animal bond. Our Shelter intervention Program and Pet Pantry prevent animals from entering Los Angeles City shelters by providing resources to low income, senior citizens, veterans and homeless pet owners. We offer free spay and neuter to help solve pet overpopulation at the root of the problem. Our Pet Care Clinics go into areas of poverty to provide resources that includes vaccines, grooming, referrals to vet care, pet food and supplies.

Meet Jasper, a 6-month-old boy with the cutest little short legs you’ve ever seen! This adorable lowrider is the definition of a sweetheart and is ready to find a loving home after his family was deported.

We’re not going to sugarcoat it - times are tough out there. But sometimes life hands you lemons, and together, we can make lemonade. 🍋

We recently received a desperate call from a woman living in her car whose dogs had run out of food. She was doing everything she could to keep her family together but needed a little help.

The Rescue Train came to the rescue and made sure her dogs had full bellies and one less thing to worry about.

It’s truly an honor to help the ones we can, because the truth is... we all need a helping hand now and again.

Kindness matters. Community matters. And keeping pets with the people who love them matters.

🐱 We’re in need of gently used plastic cat carriers!

The Rescue Train’s Snip Ship is committed to providing access to low-cost spay/neuter services in Los Angeles through our mobile spay/neuter clinic.

Cats must arrive in hard plastic carriers for safe transport and recovery after surgery. We’ve seen everything from backpacks to boxes to even bird cages, but for everyone’s safety (especially the cats’), only proper plastic carriers are accepted.

Many of the pet owners we serve are low-income and doing everything they can to care for their animals - getting them spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped even when basic pet supplies can be a challenge. That level of commitment speaks volumes. When a family can’t afford a carrier, we try to have extras on hand - but right now, we have zero.

If you have a gently used cat carrier you no longer need, we’d be incredibly grateful to give it a second life helping local families access care for their pets.

💕🐾 Happy tails start with a little snippity snip on our ship! 🐾💕

This beautiful Pomeranian was adopted from West Valley Shelter, but before she could be released from the shelter to her FURever home, she needed to be spayed.

She hopped aboard The Rescue Train’s Snip Ship, and we got her fixed and even more fabulous. A new family member picked her up and just like that a cage at the shelter is now empty.

Our mobile spay/neuter clinic reduces pet overpopulation and shelter crowding for generations. That’s something to CHOO CHOO about! 💕

The Rescue Train’s Snip Ship mobile clinic is rolling into Van Nuys with some of the most affordable spay & neuter prices in Los Angeles, made possible through generous grant funding that helps us keep costs low for local pet families.

🚨 MUST LIVE IN THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES TO QUALIFY 🚨

Finding affordable veterinary care can be tough. That’s why we’re bringing these essential services directly to the community at prices that are often a fraction of what you might pay elsewhere. Thanks to our funding partners, we’ve been able to complete more than 4,800 spay/neuter surgeries and continue helping pets stay healthy while preventing unwanted litters.
