After the week we’ve had, we considered not going to the horse show last night. But we didn’t think it’d be fair to the boys to skip out on a fun event because of our emotional and physical exhaustion, plus we figured we needed a night off the farm as a family.

And I’m SO glad we did. We had so much fun at the Dakota County open games show! Both boys rode and I’m so impressed with how they’ve improved!

Cooper did a clean pattern every single time 👏👏👏 (did the pattern properly and didn’t knock anything over!) and placed 6th place in every run! And honestly this was an incredibly competitive county show, I couldn’t believe how well those 9 and 10 year olds could ride! His confidence in the saddle amazes me and he’s truly thriving out there! And as a kid that sports have never come naturally, it’s so fun to see him succeeding in a competition amongst his peers and older kids! He got lots of compliments on his riding which was fun to see!

Tucker took a huge stride forward as well! He let Dusty trot in almost every game! A trot is one step faster than a walk and it’s a pretty bouncy gait. But this past week we found a small saddle that has stirrups that fit his legs, having those stirrups really allowed him to feel more confident! He was even posting 🤯 naturally without even being told (that’s a common tool that is taught in English riding to ride with a trot!) He also won a prize for being the youngest competitor in the barrel racing!

Bodie got to sit on the horses, his favorite thing to do, and then went home and snuggle Grandma in her air conditioning ❤️ he’ll get to ride more next year when he can hold on.

It was fun to be back in my home county and have family come watch ❤️ I really think I could get use to this horse mom thing 😂😂

This week has been a rough one - fielding SO many messages and questions about the pigs, trying to determine who is serious, lining up pick up times, loading so many pigs in the dark of night, working so many hours more than normal, and on top of that some manure hit the fan on the farm with another species we raise that caused a TON of stress.

So I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been kind to us this past week as we transition away from pork. Also thank you SO much for your patience. I am trying to answer everything but am really starting to burn out being on my phone.

We have built an amazing community and I am so thankful for you all!

🐷 FINAL CHANCE for New Frontier Farms Pork 🐷

As we begin winding down our pig program to spend more time with our boys, we have just three more whole and half Kunekune pigs available — one each month in August, September, and October.

👉 If you’ve ever thought about filling your freezer with our pasture-raised, no-corn, no-soy, heritage pork… this is it. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

We’re offering a liquidation discount on our bulk pork:
🔹 $4.00/lb for whole hogs
🔹 $4.50/lb for half hogs
(normally $5/lb!)

These are raised the right way — slow-grown, deeply flavorful, and butchered locally at Odenthal Meats. Whether you love to grill, smoke, or make the world’s best pulled pork sandwiches, our Kunekune pork is a customer favorite for good reason.

📦 Pigs are going in as soon as next week, so don’t wait!
📲 Text me at 952-297-4929 or send a quick DM to claim your share.

Help us go out with a bang — and fill your freezer with something you can feel good about feeding your family.

Important announcement: after 5 years of nonstop work, we have decided something has to give and we need to put our family time first. So with that in mind, we have decided to stop raising pigs/pork. This was a very tough decision because we enjoy the pigs, but with extremely tight profit margins, the amount of work we are putting in isn’t worth the tiny profits.

This won’t be a quick process, it will take us many months, but if you have been thinking of getting pork from us, now is the time! We will be doing a liquidation sale on our bulk pork - $4 per pound for whole hogs and $4.50 per pound for half - compared to the normal $5. If you’d like to get sign up, send me a DM or text me at 952 297-4929. We have pigs going in as soon as next week!

If you know of anyone who would be in the market for feeder pigs or breeding stock, please let us know. We have worked really hard to bring some incredible genetics to the midwest and would really like to see them go on to other farms. All prices are negotiable, especially if you buy a lot. Send me a text or DM if interested.

We will all miss the adorable piglets and the big squishy faces of our amazing Kunekunes (truly the best pig breed), but we need some more time as a family because our kids are growing up too fast and we have been too busy to enjoy it.
