this is Vincent. He popped out from under the Manor a couple of weeks ago.

He is very, very feral - and the matron has nowhere to put him, and no kibble in the bank to get him vetted.

He's been staying in the little house in the backyard of the manor since yesterday morning. Prior to that he was coming and going pretty easily in spite of the burst abscess or the hematoma or the carcinoma or whatever else is going on on the side of his head.

Long beach animal care services has said that they would help with him. So tomorrow, the matron is going to try and coordinate a plan with the folks at the shelter so that we don't miss this trapping window.

This has been another project two weeks in the making.

Beef and big head Fred are leaving Vincent alone - they're not even stealing his food! - so we are hoping he continues to stay peacefully in the house while the matron works another Herculean feat of Rescue logistics!

We are so thankful that our cities shelter will help animals like Vincent. 💜

So tonight we're asking for two things.

Send us some good trapping vibes, because once you see the photos tomorrow of the Mickey Mouse shenanigans that the matron is going to have to execute to get Vincent into a trap, it's gonna leave you shaking your head in disbelief.

And then, secondly - we are really hoping that what this is is an ear hematoma that got infected or an abscess that burst and got infected and it just looks really terrible. We're hoping that it's something treatable and not something terrible like squamous cell carcinoma. so send Vincent your good vibes and we will update tomorrow..

However, this is the kind of help we had on the next night. Luckily, this dude was not very upset, he was just hanging out in the trap, finishing up the tuna, and sat quietly and patiently while I opened the door to release him.

Let me tell you, it was a long six days.

today we celebrated national feral cat day by preventing this kitten from having to live that life

We don't have a name yet, this Kitten has been a project that has been six days in in the making, and is very very scared.

We will do a proper introduction once things calm down.

this terrified - and totally meme-able - little face belongs to Amber, and she is one of Onyx's kittens.

there is a long, long story here that I will tell at another time.

However, she and her brother Shadow (whom you haven't met yet) are maybe 6 months old and even though their momma is super friendly - the kittens are scared to death at human touch.

I've had them for 6 weeks or so now, with little progress.

I did get her spayed last week, so she's separated for a couple more days until I reunite her with her brother and she can engage him in their typically rambunctious play.

Everyone say hello to Amber, and please send good vibes that she calms down into an adoptable cat! 🐾
