Hi everyone it’s LIZ. I had something happen and this is not the first time it’s happened with someone and it won’t be the last, but when you’re late to an appointment and you do not call or text to inform me or one of my groomers that you’re going to be late, we don’t know what’s going on. We cannot read minds. We don’t know if you got in a car accident or if you overslept or something happened or you just forgot. So we’re sitting there waiting for you texting you trying to see if you’re on your way. Still no response from some people but when they get here and we try to nicely explain to them why we appreciate a text or a call and they get angry with us and storm out saying things like “ if you don’t wanna take her/him then I’ll just leave” and then proceed to walk out the door even though you didn’t say anything like that and all you did was try to explain nicely, it not only upsets us, but makes us really sad because we know we’re probably not gonna see that person again. We get quite attached to the dogs that come here and the cats and when someone does something like that, it really hurts. I’m not trying to complain, but I’ve seen it happen way too many times. It’s not my fault that you were late and I’m not trying to be a jerk that you are late, but it is common courtesy to just please let us know even if you have to pull over for a second and say hey I’m on my way and I’m so sorry but I’ll be there by this time or is it even OK to still come? a majority of the time we’re totally fine with it because we understand things happen but to get angry at us because we just want to know if you were coming it’s not acceptable. The same thing goes with no call no shows or canceling last minute. I know things happen and emergencies happen and we totally take those into consideration, but other than that if we can’t fill your spot where your dog was then unfortunately we have to charge a fee for not coming in because the groomers lose money if they can’t get a dog in to take your dogs place.
I’m really sorry I had to put this up but I felt I needed to. Please don’t blame us if you are late or get angry with us. We always try to understand the situation, but if you don’t even give us a chance to explain to you why it’s important to just let us know, it really upsets the situation. We just need you to just do is listen to our side also.
If I went to a hairdressing appointment or a doctors appointment and I was late, a lot of times they won’t even take me and I totally understand. It’s my fault and I get charged. We don’t even abide by our policies sometimes. Usually the first time someone does it we let it slide and just let them know even though my policy says that we charge the first time. Because we do understand.
I’m sorry for the rant. I really do hope everyone has an awesome day and it’s better than the way my day started. 😊💕🐾
