Y-Not Save a Sam Rescue is an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2012 to rescue Samoyed's in need, whether they are in shelters, found on the streets or an owner surrender. We are open to saving dogs in all geographic areas (both in the United States and abroad), of all ages, and in all health conditions, as funding allows. We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to our Foster's for their extraordinary kindness, support, and dedication to providing exceptional care for these beautiful Samoyeds. Also to our transport volunteers .
Over the past eight weeks, we have faced an unprecedented influx of Samoyeds whose owners have been unable to provide adequate care or housing. These dogs have presented with a range of medical concerns, from minor to significant issues. We strive to provide assistance wherever possible, within the limits of our available resources. Regrettably, the volume of requests has exceeded our capacity, and we have been unable to provide support in some instances. However, some owners have agreed to retain their Samoyeds, provided we can offer assistance with food and medical expenses, including insulin, syringes, and specialized diets. Presently, five Samoyeds are undergoing adoption trials, with positive outcomes anticipated. Furthermore, two of our Samoyeds currently in foster care will be adopted by their respective foster families upon completion of neutering procedures. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging period and thank you for your ongoing support.

Some of our current Ynot Sam Rescues
Here is an UPDATE-

💙IVAN -1 year old (14months) - 50lbs, house trained, crate-trained,cat friendly. Definitely needs work w/leash. But he’s a sweetheart for sure. IVAN was neutered just a few days ago - he’s recovering well in great foster home. He’s current on all vaccines, microchipped and heartworm prevention. IVAN did have an adopter lined up but due to some unforeseen circumstances he’ll be available once he’s fully recovered from his recent surgery.
Currently w/ foster in Salt Lake City, Utah.

🍀KAI- no doubt “a cuddly Teddy bear”coming right from his amazing Foster mom. KAI has been with us now for a few weeks. He’s adjusting and getting lots (regulated) daily exercise - he was 105lbs at his Vet -pick up exam, he is also 7 yrs old. We feel as if shedding a few pounds before placing him permanently would be best. Currently on vaccinations , microchipped and on heartworm prevention . He lived with children (under 12) is cat friendly, loves car rides, napping in the sun and snacking on ice cubes.
Currently being Fostered in Northern SLC, Utah area.

🐾ARDIE- Fun loving, well mannered, young beautiful boy. ARDIE is 1 1/2 yrs old, 70lb , neutered, house-trained, crate trained , walks amazing on a leash, cat, dog and people friendly.
He’s not been around small children. Microchipped Current on vaccines and flea/tick meds & heartworm prevention . Purchased from a local Samoyed breeder when he was a pup- owner unfortunately was relocated due to employment and Breeder did not want him back.
He’s currently with a wonderful foster family in the Seattle area.

💕YOSHI- what a BOY!! Loves being the center of attention. YOSHI is an unclaimed male, neutered, 3/4 yr old, 38lbs, AMERICAN ESKIMO. Was a “stray at large” from the Salt Lake City, Utah area. Unfortunately he was not claimed and he’s now in northern Utah w/ Cache Humane Society and is ready to be ADOPTED.
YOSHI is currently living in a foster home with a few dogs and a cat. He was recently groomed, he’s been fully vaccinated, microchipped, house-trained, loves his crate at night for comfort, walks on a leash to the Bus Stop to visit the kids.
He does like to get a bit mouthy (vocal) but never aggressive. He’s a very loving boy who really wants a forever home.

Today we welcomed ARDIE 🐾 into our Rescue- this boy is a BLAST! Full of love and excitement. He did great today at the airport with lots of people and noises. Was very interested it how an elevator worked, car rides keep his mind moving, he’s a good listener and been through some manner’s training. ARDIE 🐾is 1 1/2 yrs old, 70 lbs, neutered,house-trained, vaccinated, cat friendly and microchipped.
He’ll be spending the next few weeks w/ an experienced foster family, adjusting and allowing us to collect an accurate behavioral assessment. We know he’ll soon make a wonderful family very happy.
*forgot to mention - He Loves Balls!!

We were able to BUST 🐾 KAI out of the Brigham City UTAH Shelter on Friday. After a short RoadTrip to the Cache Human Society for all his vaccines, a microchip and a lil’ time to be socialized with walk-in friends- we were on the road once again. (Did stop for a quick treat too).
Soon we were able to meet up with KAI’s new foster mom n’ foster SamSister. The meet up and exchange went well and over the past 3 days all update have been great and very encouraging. FOSTERING SAVES LIVES- KAI was in the shelter for 3 weeks until we were able to line up a committed foster home.
🐾KAI - neutered 7 yr old M Samoyed - housetrained, cat and kid friendly, just recently groomed too. He will be available for adoption in a few weeks.

FOSTER HOME NEEDED -
Northern Utah is where she in and must remain for now. She can be vaccinated and microchipped this afternoon one she’s picked up from the Shelter in the SLC, Utah area. Preferably a Foster north of SLC.

Young unclaimed stray female (under a year) Samoyed coming into our rescue organization this weekend. Hoping to have a Northern Utah (no further than 100 miles from 84321) Foster home lined up and ready for her once she’s picked up Saturday and receives her vaccinations and microchipped. House-training and cat friendly unknown. But while at the shelter she has enjoyed the company of other dogs. Food, leash, crate, supplies are provided. Maleaha🌸 will not be available for adoption until she’s been spayed.

UPDATE-COVERED
Today Kai met an interest local Foster and her dog and the Meet and Greet went great.
Kai will be moved to a foster home tomorrow after his vet appointment.

🐾 KAI is a pretty easy going, laid back, 7yr old neutered, 72lb Samoyed. He’s does get a bit vocal while having to be in a kennel surrounded but many other shelter residents. Upon being surrendered to the shelter we’d not been able to get an accurate behavioral assessment and did not really know him. Over the past week we do believe KAI is a good boy, sensitive, and really confused about his current situation .
He was living with 2 children under 10 yrs old, indoors, he is crate trained, walks well on a leash, and enjoys car rides. He will be caught up / current on vaccines, receive a Health Exam and be microchipped.
KAI’s situation is yet another unfortunate one- family situation led him to being homeless. He is currently in a small city shelter in N. Utah (not at risk) our rescue organization is foster based and currently we have NO OPEN FOSTER HOMES AVAILABLE.
🐾KAI was living with another F 6 yr old Samoyed, she is currently being fostered locally (the foster is only allowed one dog at the residence) She is scheduled / waiting to be spayed. He was somewhat “protective “ with the female reguarding other male dogs but we hope having her spayed will help this matter. Ideally we’d like to place both Samoyed’s together but if we are not able he might be better in a home which already has a laid back older female friend.
***Fee is negotiable to a perfect approved applicant.
****Transport may be available but we’d prefer any interested applicant personally meet KAI currently. If he is able to be moved into a foster home there is a possibility of a long distance placement once an accurate behavior assessment is completed .

our very Busy February ended with another Rescue In Need. This 6 yr old beauty MIA💖 found herself homeless when her family was forced to move into an apartment where dogs were not permitted. She’s a very sweet girl, now happy to be getting lots of love and attention after spending the night in a shelter. After getting all her vaccinations done & microchipped MIA was dropped off at her Foster home here in northrh Utah where she’ll be very loved while hanging out until she’s spayed mid~March.

💖DOLLY, a 10-year-old Samoyed recently surrendered to our organization, has officially been ADOPTED. Dolly's owner was forced to relocate internationally for work, leaving Dolly behind. Our southern California transport team picked Dolly up in the Palm Springs area and ensured she received updated vaccines and a rabies shot before arriving at her foster home. It quickly became apparent that Dolly would be staying with her foster family permanently.
