This week’s spotlight goes to Nova, a beautiful 1-year-old Doberman who joined our Cache Valley Pet Hotel family in March. Nova’s story is nothing short of inspiring. Before finding her forever home, she overcame incredible challenges. She came from a very high-kill shelter, even managing to escape and survive on her own in the desert for over two months before being taken back to the same shelter and later being rescued. Thanks to some kindhearted people, she was given a second chance and we’re so glad she landed here with us. Despite her rough start, Nova has blossomed into one of the sweetest, most loving pups you’ll ever meet. She’s playful to her core, always finding something to do, whether it’s running, tackling, or just carrying around her favorite toys and blankets. She’s also very well-mannered and has had some great training. Nova adores her food, her snuggly blankets, and her biggest brother, Groot. When she’s at daycare, you’ll almost always find her with her best friend Kiesha. The two are inseparable running inside, outside, diving in the pool, hopping out, and tackling each other all day long. Nova is a joy to have with us, and we’re so proud of her! This week’s star is none other than our sweet senior, Jacob! Jacob is a 12-year-old Great Pyrenees/Cattle Dog mix who has been a beloved part of our daycare family since last year. Though his body may be slowing down, his spirit is just as strong and loving as ever. Jacob may need a little extra help getting around — he wears a harness so we can give him a lift when he needs it — but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying every moment of his day. Whether he’s slowly making his rounds or gently playing with staff, Jacob never fails to brighten the room. One of Jacob’s absolute favorite things in the world? Balls. Wherever Jacob goes, you can bet there’s a ball right there with him — by his side while he naps, tucked near him during mealtime, or tagging along during potty breaks. It’s his trusty sidekick! Despite his mobility challenges, Jacob’s heart is full of love. He adores cuddling up with staff for some well-deserved pets and attention, and his face lights up every time he sees one of his human friends. Jacob reminds us all that age is just a number and that joy can be found in the simplest things — like a ball, a cuddle, and a whole lot of love.

Meet Udo, our charming 12-and-a-half-year-old terrier mix with a heart full of love and a calm, observant spirit! Udo is the kind of dog who knows how to enjoy the simple pleasures in life—like lounging in the shade, watching the younger pups run wild, and soaking up all the love from the staff. While he’s not one to dive headfirst into the pool, Udo has his own spa-like routine: dipping just his front paws in the water and calling it a day. He’s a true expert of comfort and prefers to keep things relaxed and dignified. At night, Udo’s favorite ritual is bedtime. The moment he heads into his kennel and burrows under his blanket, you can see just how happy and content he is. It’s his little safe haven, and he always settles in with a big sigh and a wag of his tail. Udo is a people-pup through and through. Anytime a staff member comes near, he lights up with joy, tail wagging and eyes full of excitement. His gentle nature, sweet soul, and love for cozy moments make him a beloved part of our daycare family. We’re lucky to have this mellow, lovable boy in our pack!

Meet Gracie! At 14 years young, Gracie the Shepherd/Border Collie mix is living proof that you’re only as old as you feel! This spunky girl wakes up every day ready to play, explore, and soak up every ounce of fun she can find. Her favorite activity? Pool time! Gracie loves splashing around like a pup—but she still hasn’t quite figured out how to get herself out. Thankfully, our staff is always ready to lend a hand and help this sweet girl back onto dry land. When she’s not swimming, Gracie enjoys sitting on the dock, peacefully gazing out over the water like she’s taking it all in. It’s her quiet little happy place—until, of course, it’s time to eat. That’s when Gracie’s energy really shines. The second she hears the sound of food, she lights up with excitement and can barely contain her wiggles. Despite her senior status, Gracie is anything but slow. She runs, plays, and bounces around like a puppy, keeping up with the younger crowd with no problem at all. Her joyful spirit, love for life, and endless energy make her a true daycare favorite. Gracie reminds us every day that age doesn’t slow you down when you’ve got a heart full of happiness!

For pet of the week this week we have a new comer, meet Rebel. This is Rebels very first stay and I have enjoyed every moment of getting to know this handsome boy! At 9 years old, Rebel the Lab/Border Collie mix has mastered the art of charm—and chaos—in all the best ways. A true people-pup at heart, Rebel lights up the room with his signature high-pitched squeal anytime a staff member comes into view. Whether it’s morning, afternoon, or bedtime, he’s always ready to greet his favorite humans with full-body wiggles and excitement that never gets old. Mealtime with Rebel is never dull. He’s got a serious talent for sniffing out treats hidden in his kibble and has no problem flipping his entire bowl upside down to get to the good stuff. Let’s just say mealtime is more of an adventure than a routine. But when the day winds down, Rebel has one true comfort: his blanket. Watching him happily curl up on his sleeping bag each night is the perfect ending to his day of squeals, snacks, and snuggles. We love having this sweet, silly boy with us and can’t imagine the facility without his joyful energy. Rebel, you’re a star!
