I'm sure you've seen posts like this lately but it's worth repeating. It will be over 100°f for the next few days. The pavement heats up quickly. Burns are real. Heat stroke is real. When the temperatures get this hot for extended periods the pavement can reach over 140°f. As a reference, the milk in your latte is usually steamed to 150°f!! If your pet sitter tells you that they will only offer abbreviated walks in this weather please understand that it's for your pet's well being.
Remember to:

Test the ground with the back of your hand.
Walk on the grass if possible.
Walk during the cooler parts of the day.
Make sure that you and your pet stay well hydrated.

Thank you to everyone that messaged me to wish me a happy birthday. It really made me feel special! One of the things that I did to celebrate another trip around the sun was to make pizza last night. A sourdough pie with mushrooms, spinach and chorizo. If you're a new follower you may not know but besides my love for animals I also love baking and coffee 😁
