COME SEE US THIS MORNING! Our PAL Yardsale is TODAY, Saturday, August 16, from 7am-12pm. We are in the Old Dominion Humane Society parking lot located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg. This has already been a hard month for vet bills and pet food and we need help. All proceeds from the yard sale go to the animals in our care. We have lots of great goodies for sale at great prices. Come see us!!

Did you know that your gently worn sneakers and athletic shoes could help The Pet Assistance League? Well, they can and here’s how… Our team is participating in a fundraiser where there is nothing to buy or sell; All we need is your support and your gently worn, used, or new sneakers! WE CAN PICK THEM UP!

Here’s how you can help:
Start in your and your family’s closets and gather as many pair of sneakers that you no longer want; maybe you’ve out-grown them, they’re out of style, or out of season. If you and your household have 20 pairs, great! If not, don’t worry. You can ask your neighbors, friends, co-workers, and anyone in your social networks to help out. Every pair counts! The sneakers that we collect will help raise money to support our program AND will help our environment by keeping sneakers out of landfills.

It's $5 FRIDAY and donations are greatly needed to support rescue, The Pet Assistance League. Please make a donation if you're able. Thank you so much for making it possible for us to save the cats and dogs that need our help. We are forever grateful to you ... and we believe the animals are, too. Every little bit helps and it all adds up quickly.

As with all the pets we rescue, we provide them with top-notch veterinary care. Often this can add up so quickly, but by providing this level of care, we can assure the animals we rescue have the healthiest and happiest rest of their lives. That's what they deserve!

Today, August 8th, the whole world celebrates International Cat Day — a day filled with love and admiration for these enchanting, mysterious creatures.

Cats brighten our lives with their playful spirit, independent charm, and those sweet, unexpected moments of affection.

This special day is a perfect opportunity to show them just how much we love them and to thank them for the joy and companionship they bring into our lives. Whether they’re curled up in a cozy corner or ruling the whole neighborhood like queens, our feline friends deserve all the care and attention in the world.

So on August 8th, let’s give them a little extra love — more cuddles, more playtime, and maybe even a special treat! And don’t forget: it’s our responsibility to give them a safe home and a happy life.

All of our adoptions are very important to us and I can’t tell you the feeling that I get when I know that they are gonna be loved for the rest of their life. Our sweet Frankie who is heartworm positive, but going through treatment got a wonderful home with Cyndy Groves and Groves. This isn’t just any home. They have been long time supporters, longtime (foster) fails, long-term adopters, and longtime volunteers for PAL. I’m so happy for Frankie.❤️❤️
