🦎 Methylene Blue Bath for Axolotls — Quick Guide 💙

If your axolotl has suspected fungus, a methylene blue bath may be used as a short-term treatment.

🔹 Bath duration: 10–15 minutes
🔹 Frequency: Once daily while treating an active fungal issue
🔹 Container: Use a separate treatment tub — never the main aquarium
🔹 Water: Always use dechlorinated, temperature-matched water
🔹 Dosage: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully. Methylene blue products vary in concentration, so the amount cannot safely be generalized between brands.
🔹 After the bath: Move the axolotl back into clean, temperature-appropriate water.

⚠️ Important: Do not use methylene blue as a routine preventative treatment. Overdosing or prolonged exposure can stress an axolotl and potentially damage beneficial aquarium bacteria.
