Brushing your furry friend is about more than keeping their coat looking nice. 🐾

Regular brushing helps remove loose fur, prevent painful mats, reduce shedding, and gives you a chance to check for lumps, bumps, fleas, ticks, dry skin, or irritation.

A few minutes of brushing can help keep your pet comfortable, healthy, and feeling their best! Please contact us to inquire about proper grooming and the best ways to keep your fuzzy companions looking good and feeling even better!

Ticks are becoming a bigger concern across Michigan, and they can affect both dogs and cats. 🐾 Dogs may be exposed to illnesses like Lyme disease and anaplasmosis, while cats can also suffer from tick bites, irritation, and infection.

Help protect your companion animals with year-round veterinarian-approved prevention, regular tick checks after outdoor time, and prompt removal of any attached ticks. Never use dog-only tick products on cats, as some ingredients can be toxic to them.

Please contact us if you notice limping, fever, low energy, loss of appetite, weakness, or unusual bruising after possible tick exposure.
We want all our companions to live freely without the threat of ticks! ❤️

Our companions can’t always tell us when something is wrong, but they can show us signs. 🐾

Changes in appetite, energy, weight, bathroom habits, behavior, breathing, movement, or grooming can all be clues that your pet may not be feeling their best.

Knowing what is normal for your pet makes it easier to spot when something feels off. Please contact us if you notice any changes; your veterinary team is here to help. ❤️

What a week! Christmas in July reminded us that the holiday spirit isn’t about the season, it’s about the people. 🎄

Across our organization, our teams embraced the fun with festive decorations, creative outfits, holiday treats, puzzles, team meals, and plenty of laughter. It was incredible to see each location bring its own unique personality while celebrating together.

A special thank you to our amazing strategic partners for helping make this week even more memorable by treating our teams and supporting the celebrations. Your partnership means so much, and we’re grateful for your continued support.

Most importantly, thank you to every team member who participated, shared photos, spread joy, and continued providing exceptional care to our animal companions while making time to celebrate one another.

Christmas in July is more than just a fun tradition, it’s a reminder that taking time to connect, recognize each other, and celebrate as one team strengthens the culture that makes our organization so special.

Here’s to staying connected, celebrating often, and carrying this energy through the rest of the year. ❤️🐾

Myth: Milk is a healthy treat for cats. 🐱🥛

Truth: Many cats are lactose intolerant, which means milk can lead to stomach upset, gas, vomiting, or diarrhea. While kittens drink their mother’s milk, adult cats usually do not need dairy in their diet.

Avoid giving cats milk, chocolate, grapes/raisins, onions, garlic, alcohol, caffeine, raw dough, bones, or heavily seasoned human food.

For a safer treat, stick with cat-friendly options recommended by your veterinary team like small pieces of plain cooked chicken or turkey, freeze-dried meat treats, lickable cat treats, catnip, silvervine, or a few pieces of their regular kibble!
