URGENT HELP NEEDED: Please take a moment to read their stories and if you are able, donate below! We have a couple of animals that desperately need your support! Kano, a 3-year-old Bloodhound and Waterboy, a young stray cat are both suffering from conditions that will require them to have extensive surgeries.
Bloodhound mix Kano and his brother Goliath have already been through more than most dogs ever should. They came to us as transfers from another dog control, having been picked up as strays. However, both were in rough shape when they arrived to us; thin, neglected, and clearly unwell.
Initial bloodwork and urine tests for both boys came back with concerning results. We started them on four weeks of medication, hoping for improvement. Kano, who came in with a large tumor on his foot will need surgery to remove the tumor and amputate the toes. Because of the tumor’s size and location, HIS size, and already painful hind hips, it’s a difficult procedure with a tough recovery ahead.
Worst of all? Kano’s tumor could be cancer, and if it has spread, we could be looking at something even more devastating. On top of this, Goliath’s most recent bloodwork shows that he is now at risk of long-term kidney damage caused by untreated medical issues. These boys never had a soft place to land until now. But to give them a fighting chance, we urgently need your help.
By the time help arrived for Waterboy, a sweet, stray, black cat who got tangled and caught in a soccer net, the damage was done. His leg was swollen and the blood supply cut off for too long. A portion of his foot fell off and is now an open wound that refuses to heal, exposing bone, and a spreading infection. Waterboy is also FIV/FeLV positive, meaning his immune system is already weakened, making recovery even harder. Now, Waterboy is facing amputation. We don’t yet know how much of the foot or leg will be removed, but what we do know is that he deserves the chance to live without pain. We’re asking for help. His surgery and care will be costly, and we can’t do it alone.
Every dollar brings these boys one step closer to a much better future. Between Kano and Waterboy’s surgeries alone, we are estimating a cost of $3,000 - $4,000. Any amount helps.
