🍁 As Fall approaches, the nights are becoming cooler. What better way to spend a purr-fect Autumn evening than snuggled up with your furry friend under a handmade quilt! 🍂

Those that visited us during the Littleton First Friday events may have already gotten their hands on some tickets for our Summer quilt raffle, but now, you can also get tickets right through our website! Last chance to grab your tickets before our drawing at the end of the Summer. The first winner chosen will get first pick of the four, the second will get second pick, etc. Help raise much-needed funds for our shelter while also getting a chance to win one of four beautiful handmade quilts 😻

🚨Volunteers needed!🚨

We have been having one of our busiest years ever. With a full shelter and a long waiting list of cats and kittens needing to come in, we need some help! Without enough volunteers to help with morning feeding and cleaning (including kennels, litter boxes, laundry, and dishes), it can take almost the entire day for us to get these vital tasks completed, which of course impacts our ability to work on fundraising, adoption applications and surrender processing, posting adoptable cats on our website, returning voicemails and emails, booking spay/neuter appointments, upcoming much-needed renovations, and more. If you love cats and kittens, are detail-oriented, enjoy meeting new people, and just want to make a meaningful impact in the lives of pets in your community, please visit our website (link below) to send us a volunteer application. We are so happy to have been able to help support Becky's Gift by donating items for their Tack Room this week. The items had been donated by Jan and others in the community over time. 🐾🍗 Today's the day - Our Dining to Donate event at the Littleton Applebee's is happening from now until close! Proceeds benefit our shelter and help us care for homeless cats and kittens like this sweet girl, who was recently found and rescued from railroad tracks with her siblings. 🍗🐾

If you don't feel like cooking, are celebrating a birthday or other event, or just want a fun way to get out of the house that also benefits a good cause, come on down to the Littleton Applebee's on Meadow Street. Present one of these flyers to your server, and 15% of your bill (excluding tax and tip) will go to our shelter. Valid on takeout as well!

Bianca had some fun enjoying a new stump on the catio this weekend! Part of why cats are such great pets? They're easily entertained! 😸

🖤 Bianca is a young adult stray who was rescued from outside along with her kittens. We unfortunately see this a lot - feral, unsocialized kittens with friendly mamas. These are possibly people's pets that run away when they're in heat or are abandoned when it's discovered that they're pregnant. Then the kittens are born outdoors and, if not caught early enough to be socialized and handled, they grow up to become feral cats (who then go on to have more and more litters outdoors).

Bianca absolutely craves attention, and coexists with the other cats without issues. If you enjoy giving your cat a lot of love, Bianca would be a good fit 🖤

Be aware that this is our busiest time of year, and we cannot respond to everyone immediately. Please be patient with us, as we are a small team with a big list of tasks! Thank you for your support 🐾

🐾🍗 Our Whiskers & Wings - Dining to Donate fundraiser at the Littleton Applebee's is one week from today! From 11 AM to close on Thursday August 14th, if you visit the Littleton Applebee's and present the approved flyer (available on our website or at the shelter) to your server, Applebee's will donate 15% of the bill to our shelter! (Before tax and tip) 🍗🐾

Your donation will go to help us care for kitties like Sally, an older gal that, along with three kittens and nine other adult cats, we rescued after the owners moved out and abandoned them in unsanitary conditions. Most of the cats were not spayed or neutered, and a few had some health issues that needed to be addressed. Sally (who is now spayed!) is the sweetest thing who will chat with you and follow you around for attention. Young or old, all cats deserve a second chance! Thank you for helping us to be able to give one to Sally and her friends ❤️‍🩹

UPDATE: The girls have someone coming to meet them tomorrow, and she learned about them from a family member who shared this post. Thank you to everyone that shared!

🤍🖤 We sadly haven't had any interest in pals Hildy and Priscilla. They are young adults (approximately 1-2 years) that enjoys snacks, naps, attention, and watching birds out the window or from the catio. They are all-around awesome cats and would make great family pets, but adult pairs often take longer to find homes than kitten pairs. Please share to help us find their special place! 🖤🤍

We're on Porter Street for the last First Friday of the Summer - come say hi! We have promo materials, quilt raffle tickets, 15th anniversary tees, and face painting by donation! 😻

Donations are always appreciated, but even if you just want to say hi, introduce us to your dogs, or show off phone pics of your cats, we're here for it and excited to see you! 🐾

😺 Happy ~ Today we wanted to share Ivy and Aurora's happy ending with you! 😺

Their adopters came in looking for a single, friendly adult cat, but when husband and wife each fell in love with a different cat, they couldn't help but take both home! Previously known as Nutmeg and Mackenzie, these two ladies came from different backgrounds (both were surrendered by their owners, for different reasons), but are now sharing a home together. Their new pet parents say that the girls are "a source of joy for us" and that they are "adapting well to their new home."

We couldn't be happier - thank you for adopting them! 🤎🖤

We recently took in 10 hungry, dirty, and scared cats and three kittens that were abandoned in unsuitable conditions after their owners moved out. Keep an eye out as we post photos on our site of those that are now coming up ready for adoption.

Two of the kitties are Sheena and Suzie, two girls who are very sweet but clearly very traumatized. In addition to being vaccinated, spayed, and all the usual vet care the cats receive here, they both needed some extra medical care (Suzie was having skin issues, and Sheena has a large unusual cyst that will be removed soon). Despite being very frightened, Suzie just couldn't resist a squeezy treat! Looking through the photos, you can see her go from being very skeptical, to giving the treat a taste, to even coming out for some love! This is what it's all about, working to help cats and kittens feel safe and loved again. We're going to do our best to heal their hearts and make sure they don't have to find themselves in such a sad situation again ❤️‍🩹

Last reminder for our Walk-In Pet Nail Trim Clinic, happening tomorrow, July 27th from 10 AM to 12 PM, here at the shelter in Littleton! Cash only, $10 donation per pet. Proceeds benefit our shelter! Dogs on leashes and cats/small pets in carriers, please. Dress for the weather (some people may need to wait outside or in their cars), and if you have a dog that doesn't do well with others, please come inside without your dog to let us know, and we can work to get them inside with no other dogs around. We hope to see you there! 🐾
