Meet Midget! Midget and her family visited us this afternoon after being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and needed some medication to help her feel better. She was such a cuddly love bug and was giving everyone head butts and happy purrs throughout her visit with us.

Hyperthyroidism is a common condition in older cats caused by an overactive thyroid gland. It can lead to symptoms like weight loss despite a good appetite, increased thirst, vomiting, hyperactivity, and changes in behavior. The good news is that with proper diagnosis and treatment, many cats can continue to live happy, healthy lives! If you notice any of these signs in your cat, schedule a visit with your veterinarian.

We hope everyone is having a happy and safe holiday weekend. Rest assured we are open 10am-10pm tomorrow for all of your urgent care needs!

Porcupine Trouble! 🐾

Roo and Josie stopped by yesterday after an unfortunate run-in with a porcupine 😔

Porcupine quills can be painful and dangerous if not treated properly. If your pet has an encounter:

➡️ Don’t try to remove quills at home
⚠️ Prevent pawing or rubbing
❗️Seek veterinary care right away

Hopefully these girls will avoid getting to close to a porcupine in the future. 💗

🐶🐈 We are here for you and your pet's, if you need us.

Update: This lucky kitty will be going to Riverside Rescue. If you would like to donate to help with his continued care please contact Riverside Rescue https://www.riversideanimalrescue.org/

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible community for the outpouring of concern and generosity shown for the injured kitty brought to us late last night. This sweet kitty, who was struck by a car, was promptly assessed and provided with pain management to ensure comfort. At this time, we have not been able to identify or connect with an owner. However, we have been in contact with several rescue organizations who are prepared to take responsibility. This morning, kitty is stable and resting comfortably. Thank you again to our caring community, and to our dedicated team, for your kindness, compassion, and ongoing support.
