Some great news for some great pet and their new families! 🎉💕

We are so happy when our awesome shelter animals find their forever homes. It’s why we do what we do!

We were also able to reunite 6 pets with their owners and we transferred out another to a partner shelter 🐾

Mahalo for all of your support to give these cats and dogs second chances!

Rue got lost at Kukuiolono park in Kalahelo yesterday 6/5. She is wearing her yellow “adopt me” vest and has a collar and leash. She is very shy and loud noises scare her.

Be part of our shelter dogs’ favorite time of the day- dog playgroups! It’s exactly how it sounds- dogs playing!
We invite you to help us enrich, interact with, and socialize our shelter pups from 9-11am on Saturday, June 13th. Just wear covered shoes, and pants and clothes that you don’t mind some paw prints on 🤣🐾

This is a great opportunity to see our dogs in action and also experience what it’s like to volunteer for Kaua’i’s only animal shelter! 💕

The pups can’t wait to play with you! 🙏✨

Meet Cherokee Purple – A Gentle Kupuna Looking for His Peaceful Retirement Hale

At 14 years young, Cherokee Purple is a handsome kupuna kitty with a soft grey coat and an even softer heart. This sweet senior gentleman may be a little shy when meeting new people, but beneath that timid exterior is a loving companion just waiting for someone to give him a chance.

Cherokee Purple prefers to take life at his own pace. When he feels safe and comfortable, his affectionate side begins to shine. He’ll reward your patience with gentle head rubs, quiet companionship, and the kind of trust that makes every moment feel special.

While he tolerates other cats, Cherokee Purple can be shy around them as well and would likely be happiest in a calm, low-traffic home where he can settle in without too much commotion. A quiet household with patient ‘ohana, and ideally without other pets or young keiki, would allow him the space and security he needs to truly blossom.

Kupuna cats have so much love left to give, and Cherokee Purple is no exception. He’s looking for someone who understands that the best friendships aren’t rushed—they’re built on kindness, patience, and trust. If you’re searching for a gentle companion to share peaceful days and cozy evenings, Cherokee Purple may be the perfect addition to your ʻohana. 🩵

Not your typical yoga class😹 Last month’s kittens, Elepaio, Ulili, and Kamao had a great time stretching, but mostly goofing around. They are still available for adopting too!

Our next Kitten Yoga is 1 week away! It’s a great way to stretch with adoptable kittens led by a certified instructor and the best part is all proceeds help shelter animals.
