In Carroll, Iowa, Matthew Allan McNelly and Joey Lee Miller were apprehended after trying to break into a home while wearing "disguises" made entirely of permanent black marker. The suspects were easily identified by officers due to their uniquely inked faces. While the situation began as a serious report of intruders in hooded sweatshirts, it quickly turned into a viral story because of the suspects' hilariously ineffective attempt at stealth. In 2019, the Rat Driving Experiment showed that rats can actually learn to drive tiny cars made of plastic jars to get treats. By touching copper wires to steer, the animals didn't just reach their food, but they also became much less stressed because of the satisfaction of learning a new skill. The study found that rats living in more natural settings were better drivers than those in plain cages, and the positive change in their brain chemistry suggests that doing challenging tasks could help humans deal with mental health issues.
