I AM SORRY BUT I NEED TO VENT…Hello to the owner of the kitten, residents of Clay street and the blocks surrounding Clay over by what used to be Mckinnley school and to the two vehicles that passed by a BLACK young cat in the middle of Clay street around 4:30/4:45 PM ON MONDAY JUNE 24 2024…DID IT CROSS YOUR MIND AT BY THE WAY THAT KITTEN WAS MEOWING AND WANDERING IN THE MIDDLE OF CLAY STREET (AND PROBABLY THRU YOUR YARDS ) THAT IT NEEDED HELP OR WERE YOU TO WRAPPED UP IN YOUR OWN LIVES TO SEE THIS KITTEN…I SAW IT A BLOCK AWAY…when I stopped and picked it up it’s eyes were so matted shut with puss that it could not see and it nose matted so it could not breathe well…it took me less than 30 seconds of my day to stop and help this black kitten into my front seat of my pickup where it laid calmly (so I know this kitten is no stray)…I drove over to Prespect where my friend lives (THANK YOU NEVA) and we cleaned its eyes and nose with diluted peroxide (once again calm cat)…I drove 15 miles to my house and called the vet to see when I could get it into the Haskell County Vet…I then set it up with a comfy blanket, wet cat food and water in my spare bathroom…this whole process with driving time took me less than an hour out of my busy day but you residents and car drivers that live and drive that street couldn’t take 10 minutes out of your busy life and take this kitten to the shelter or hold it in a safe space until animal control could come pick it up so that it would not get smashed in the road or suffer and eventually die in your yard…ARE WE SO DESENSITIZED AND WRAPPED UP IN OUR OWN LIVES THAT WE FAIL TO SEE THE PAIN AND SUFFERING OF ANIMALS…PEOPLE CAN SPEAK WHEN THEY HURT AND NEED HELP, ANIMALS CANNOT!!!!!…I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON VOODOO (my husband is currently working in Louisiana lol)…here is a picture and know if Voodoo survives has a forever home…if you get a cat or dog (well basically any animal) you become responsible for that animal…it is dependent upon you for everything (WATER FOOD SHELTER FROM THE ELEMENTS EDUCATION -SO IT BECOMES AN ANIMAL PEOPLE ARE NOT AFRAID OF)…we can (and should) do better for our animals!!!
