This Giving Tuesday, Your Gift Truly Matters

There is a somber reality of addiction in America that we all share. When co-founders Christian Countzler and Frank Taylor first envisioned Stable Recovery, they combined the best practices of addiction treatment with a simple but powerful truth: people thrive when they have meaningful work, purpose, and the healing connection of the horse.

They knew it would be special—but none of us imagined it would become so effective that it surpasses national recovery rates.

At Stable Recovery, we operate with care, structure, and discipline. Every dollar is used purposefully to support the men and women working hard to rebuild their lives with dignity and direction.

Here’s how your generosity directly fuels their progress:
$2 per day
Feeds one resident—fueling the strength needed to stay the course.
$29 per week
Provides transportation to work, clinical services, 12-step meetings, and all program
activities—keeping residents engaged and moving forward.
$384 per month
Covers safe, stable housing during the most vulnerable stage of early recovery—the starting gate of their journey.
$14,625 funds a resident’s first 90 days
The most critical stretch. This support provides Structure, Discipline, Responsibility, and Accountability—the fundamentals that help them find a steady pace.
$41,382 supports a full year
Guiding a resident from day one through graduation, helping them round every turn and cross the finish line with confidence and purpose.

Why Your Gift Matters
More than 80% of our legacy graduates remain sober and gainfully employed.
That’s not just a statistic—it’s proof that the race toward a better life can be won with the right support, structure, and herd behind them.

Your Giving Tuesday contribution keeps that success possible.
It strengthens our programs.
It supports our residents.
It pushes our mission forward, full speed ahead.

Give today—and help someone in recovery take the next strong step toward a life of purpose.

Modon Holding announces a strategic investment in Wellington Lifestyle Partners (Wellington Equestrian Centre) expanding its global portfolio in luxury lifestyle destination development.

Modon joins a consortium of investors to elevate Wellington International equestrian showgrounds and develop an ultra-luxury destination integrating residential, hospitality and sports assets in Wellington, Palm Beach County, Florida.

This strengthens Modon’s global presence and enables knowledge exchange across large-scale mixed-use, hospitality and lifestyle developments.

Modon’s investment will support the long-term development of Wellington International equestrian showgrounds and deliver a landmark ultra-luxury real estate development featuring high-end residences, a boutique hotel, a commercial marketplace and a championship golf course located in Wellington, Florida – a global icon of equestrian sport.

This investment marks Modon’s first direct investment in an equestrian led development in the United States, complementing its existing global portfolio, and reinforcing its strategy to partner with leading international organisations in expanding its presence across ultra-luxury destination developments. The partnership further strengthens Modon’s position as a globally recognised investor in large-scale, high-value real estate and lifestyle projects.

Through the investment, Modon joins WLP’s group of existing investors and operators to advance a multi-asset portfolio of lifestyle and sports destinations. The portfolio includes the world-renowned Wellington International showgrounds; The Wanderers Club, a private family-oriented country club offering golf, tennis, swimming and dining; The Wellington, a new private residential club community comprising 253 best-in-class residences set to open in 2028 and featuring a championship-level golf course designed by David McLay Kidd; and a planned lifestyle Marketplace featuring a luxury boutique hotel, residences, shops, offices and restaurants. Together, these assets form a long-term masterplan to strengthen Wellington’s position as the global home of equestrian sport and luxury living.

The investment also includes a strategic licence agreement enabling Modon to use Wellington International’s brand and intellectual property across several key strategic markets to support the development of future lifestyle and community destinations. As part of the agreement, Modon will also become a premier sponsor of the Winter Equestrian Festival and Adequan® Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) – the world’s largest and longest-running hunter/jumper and dressage competitions, attracting over 250,000 spectators and exhibitors each year.

His Excellency Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of Modon Holding, said: “This strategic investment reflects Modon’s ambition to invest alongside world-class partners that share our vision for excellence in destination development. Wellington Lifestyle Partners represents a unique collaboration that brings together expertise in real estate, equestrian, hospitality and sports-led communities. By extending our reach to the United States, we are furthering Modon’s role in delivering sustainable destinations that embody quality, innovation and cultural connection.”

Bill O’Regan, Group Chief Executive Officer of Modon Holding, added: “Our partnership with Wellington Lifestyle Partners aligns with Modon’s strategy to develop integrated lifestyle destinations that combine community, sport and hospitality. Wellington International is recognised globally for its equestrian excellence, and this collaboration provides a valuable opportunity to exchange expertise in operations, master planning and design. It complements our portfolio across Hudayriyat Island, Ras El Hekma and La Zagaleta, reinforcing Modon’s commitment to delivering transformative, world-class destinations.”

Mark Bellissimo, Founder of Wellington Lifestyle Partners, said: “The addition of Modon Holding to Wellington Lifestyle Partners brings together an exceptional blend of expertise. With Modon’s world-class destination development experience, Doug McMahon and NEXUS’ leadership in luxury community development, and equestrian Murray Kessler as CEO of Wellington International, we are uniquely positioned to accelerate our vision to set a new standard of quality for an equestrian lifestyle destination here in Wellington.”

The Spy Coast Farm students and interns had another great round of hands on Skills Labs sponsored by Merck Animal Health! Our educational coordinator, Becky Gilchrist, worked on teaching how to clip, loading and unloading horses on the trailer, and a barn cat neuter clinic!

As the weather turns colder, we are reaching out for help supporting the men in our program. We’re currently approaching 70 residents, and our supply of warm clothing is running low. Our men work outdoors or in barns as part of their recovery and job training, so durable, weather-appropriate clothing is essential to keeping them comfortable and safe through the winter months.

We are in need of all types of winter items — coats, gloves, hats, socks, boots, and workwear — in any size. Both new and gently used donations are appreciated.

If you don’t have items to donate but would still like to help, we’ve created an Amazon Wish List where you can easily purchase and ship items directly to us: https://a.co/8p7d5Zt

Donations can be dropped off or shipped to:
3363 Tates Creek Road, Suite 212
Lexington, KY 40502

Your generosity makes a real difference. Thank you for helping us keep our residents warm, supported, and equipped for success this winter.

Pigeon Fever, caused by the bacterium Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, is a fly-borne disease that’s becoming increasingly common across the U.S. Once mostly seen on the West Coast, it’s now emerging in southern and eastern states.

🔍 How It Spreads:
Flies play a major role in transmission, carrying the bacteria (which originally lives in the soil) from draining abscesses or contaminated soil to other horses. Infection can occur through:

• Flies landing on open wounds or scrapes
• Contact with contaminated dirt or pus
• Direct contact with an infected horse

⚠️ Signs to Watch For:
Pigeon Fever can show up in several ways:

1️⃣ External Abscesses (most common)
• Swelling, often on the chest or belly (“pigeon breast” look)
• Abscesses that rupture or drain thick pus

2️⃣ Internal Abscesses on Organs (less common but serious)
• Signs include anorexia, lethargy, weight loss, colic, pneumonia, fever, respiratory tract disease
• Require prolonged therapy and close monitoring with an overall worse prognosis

3️⃣ Lymphangitis/Vasculitis
• Swelling of the limbs (one or more can be affected)
• Inability/difficulty moving limbs
• Fever
• This form can mimic clinical signs of other conditions like cellulitis, purpura hemorrhagica, Strangles associated vasculitis, and lymphangitis

🩺 Diagnosis:
Your veterinarian can confirm the infection through:
• Bacterial culture
• SHI titer (blood test)
• PCR testing (purulent exudate, biopsy of affected tissue, internal abscess exudate)

💊 Treatment:
• Hydrotherapy
• Anti-inflammatories
• Abscess lavage and lancing
• Antimicrobials AT DIRECTION of your veterinarian

🛡️ Prevention Tips:
• Keep fly populations under control
• Isolate horses with draining abscesses
• Dispose of pus and bedding safely to reduce contamination

If you suspect your horse has Pigeon Fever, contact your veterinarian immediately.
